FO NWC Nintendo World Championship Cart # sold!!

Comments

  • Very cool. Aren't those EPROM windows kinda risky being exposed like that? Or does it take more light to erase bits of data?
  • I wish I could afford to even think about making an offer on this.
  • Wish I could trade some fiber optic sign for it
  • I think I remember seeing this one sometime back. Hope you get a nice offer!
  • Is the front of the cartridge pimply? Is that a thing?

It is actually. Most collectors call it "cart herpes". Seriously that's what it's going by. lol

I think it happens due to a chemical reaction caused by age and heat. Nothing you can do to fix it, and nothing to do to really prevent it (unless you DON'T live in the tropics) Nasty stuff as it can also bubble up front underneath labels too.

Yes, well said. Thanks for explanation.
This cart was in a safe for upward of 10 years before I bought it
From previous owner. And recently been searching for an upgrade.

it takes 2 to 5 minutes minutes under a 400nm UV light to erase an eprom. or exposing to direct sunlight will do it too. regular house light wont effect it.
