Blank Brazilian Pirate Cart

So been doing a few deals with a guy locally and he had an...oddity. We both figure its a blank brazilian pirate cart but we are not 100% sure. He said he put it in his NES and couldnt get anything out of it. The shell seems to have a bit of sticker residue on it but not enough for a full label (so either someone did an emmaculate job of cleaning 90% of it, then got SUPER lazy for two small parts...or it just had some small stickers on it). Cart is definity from brazil, which means most likely just a pirate cart.

Also google translate for the text on the back seems to confirm what we both figured, says "gradient cartridge virgin brazilian industry produced in the free zone of manaus". Guess looking for price(ish) and maybe a bit more info? Whenever I come acros something I have never seen before, I gotta find out more..

Anyone seen one before? or have any more information on value / what it is ? I dont dabble enough in to the multicarts to really have much information outside of brazilian pirate cart

  • I guess as an aside. From digging a bit more around it seems this may have been a cart for the famiclone phantom system. Again, dont know much about the brazilian stuff, but anyone know if its possible to play the famiclone games in a NTSC top loader ?

I would think that if you didn’t have the security chip, it would be fine. But I really don’t know.

  • that pcb design is akin to NROM- no bankswitching, very limited capabilities. the non-stickered chip appears to be a 16K prom, which is likely the prg chip. It's probably a pirate of pac-man or something in that range technically. for value I'd think under $10, considering it has no label and doesn't work.

forgot to mention: gradiente was a brazilian NES pirate producer. There are some brazilian pirate originals like crime buster, but they all used more advanced hardware afaik.

Cool, good to know =). Even just seeing this started me digging more into the brazilian pirate stuff (even though I never had much interest in it previously so didnt know a whole lot). Kind of funny all the famiclone systems they made out there. Appreciate the help figuring out more about it!
