SNES MACS Set - Cartridge, Rifle , System

I've come across an interesting set, I don't normally collect console games - but I've read about this and know it has some value

I can provide pictures if needed.

Rundown:

MACS 1994.0 Cartridge - Basic Rifle Markmenship (typical white label, plain - as pictured in most places)

SNES System (Nothing special, heavily worn box - includes some military papers and price lists for the parts)

Rifle/Lightgun (Minor wear, Jager branded frame)

13" Color RF-input only TV (Nothing special, does have handwritten MACS label on it, minor scratches)

Does not have:

The operators manual I've seen around

It's tested and working, in game targeting works etc

I've had a hard time finding a value for this stuff, post and google history either does not mention price or is 4+ years old

Any advice as far as value?

Edit: images uploaded as attachments to this post

  • You've come to the right place for info. I'd suggest uploading a few pics as it might help others determine value.
  • Some pictures would be helpful Oldman

Pictures added, sorry for lighting - I can take some clearer ones tomorrow most likely

  • I can't seem to open the pictures. 5k is a lot of money but I would assume this set would bring more than that? 5k for me would be disappointing. I own the set and I wouldn't sell mine for 5k. It just depends on the current seller and buyer. If you can get this for 5k it's definately worth it.

You are probably counting the Moiving Target Sim cart in your set though, the one in the OP is missing it.

  • Can you take closer pictures of the label on the TV please?
  • The price list is so cool, thanks for sharing it and good luck with your potential sale.
  • There isn't much to that label, it's hand-written like the one on the 'controller'/gun.

TV Top Picture added as requested

I'm pretty excited to see some interest in it (I've already received some offers via PM, ha!)

I would really want to keep the set as a whole, as even though the system/TV are very generic - the price list ties them together, and I'd assume that raises the value (whether monetarily or nostolgia-wise)
  • Don't leave us hanging.......NA needs some story time. How did you acquire this?

I'm kind of the target of electronics/computer stuff donations in my social circles (being an it/computer repair guy - I take old stuff like 2011-era laptops and refurbish them for friends/family), I overheard someone mentioning this "weird nintendo gun thing" and chatted them up - and they (non gamer/non techie well-off type) actually let me have it, when they dropped it off I wasn't even expecting the tv.

I actually ran into the guy once I found out hints of the value from old threads/articles, and told him, ready to give it back - and he surprisingly wasn't fazed (and also kind of skeptical), so my conscious is clear

And for the record, the set has been sold - great informative community here!

  • Thanks for the story. Did your donors ever mention how they got it? Could be an interesting story.
