Nintendo 64 neon sign

Hey NA

I can't find any data on this sign. I was just wondering in working condition what this sign goes for?

Last one sold for 400 in 2013

Thanks in advance

With original box I think you can double that 2013 number.

  • I'd say since it has the box (and signs are getting up there lately) you might be able to get $900-$1000
  • Thanks for the answers. No box though, this was just a reference picture.

    I was thining 500-600?

Yes for a reference picture so you guys knew which sign. I didn't think to mention about the box. I don't have a picture of the actual sign at the moment.
  • Where do you find all these awesome signs!?
  • Without box, then you'd be looking at prob $750-$850

Thanks man. Appreciate it. Looking to add this to the game room but wasn't sure what to offer.

Lol ebay on this one. I finally got it today and am taking it this weeked to the repair shop. After all is said and done, with what i paid for the sign and repair, i will be below what the sign is worth in working condition, so i feel like i did well. Of course, that is if nothing goes wrong and the repair goes as planned lol Fingers crossed.

  • I'm really surprised a box for an item like this would add any value other than potentially help verify good condition of the sign itself. It's not like it has nice graphics or is an item that is better presented in the box. Just an ugly shipping box that takes up a ton of room.
  • I just picked up this same sign last week. Guess I got a good deal on it. Though the transformer had to be replaced, which.....still made it a good deal.

Post the repair job when finished! Interesting to see how they'll fix that broken glass on the 4. If you need a reference for the repair, this is how it's supposed to look up-close:

Thanks so much man, that was really helpful. I sent it over as it is better than the picture i gave him. I love this sign, how much did you get yours for out of curiosity?

Anytime my friend, if you'd like any other angles etc feel free to ask. I got mine for $400 just recently (but had to replace the dying transformer for another $150, shines bright as new now  ). The store owner I got it from accepted my very first offer since neither of us really knew what it was worth, and I had made a fairly handsome offer to get a WoN superbrite from him not too long ago, so he trusted my offer was a solid one. Turns out I got a pretty good deal!

I'll let you know which transformer is in mine once I get home. I don't know much about the electrical side of things but I know this is a "self-regulating" transformer that feeds the appropriate amount of electricity to keep the sign working optimally without underpowering or overpowering it (was installed by a neon sign/glass-blowing specialist with 35 years experience, got this info from them), so I imagine it's an ideal solution. I'll post again in a bit with the info

Edit: Frick totally forgot about this. The wife wanted to do the whole "romantic dinner and sex" thing last night. PFFFFFF *exaggerated eye roll*

No worries dude lol you never pass up romantic dinner and sex with the wife.

He just finished the sign, picking it up this weekend. Looks awesome. I think the 6 has a scratch on it i couldn't see now that it is lit, but it could be the picture.

Shit yeah, looks awesome! Dude did a great job. What I learned from my sign fixer guy was that Nintendo cheaped out on many components of these signs (surprise surprise), and that instead of going with actual red neon glass, they just painted clear glass red. He also told me that this paint, especailly on the ends of signs, tends to get hot, and when it gets hot, it can bubble and chip/flake. My sign (on the "64" part as well) had some flaking, and a couple little pieces with the paint missing. As you can see by the close-up I included earler in the thread, I found the perfect matching paint from a craft & hobby store near where I lived, which apparently is the exact same laquer-based paint used on the glass. If the sign does arrive back to you and you notice some flaws in the paint, let me know and I'll give you the info about the perfect touch-up paint.

Edit: Actually I'll do you one better, if there are flaws in the paint, shoot me a PM and I'll send you the actual paint

Thank man! That is really nice of you. I actually just picked it up and it looks great, not as bad as i thought. And he said it isn't the paint, but basically some broken glass must have scratched the inside when he repumped it. So can't really fix it. Does yours have an off and on switch? I can't seem to find it on mine it just turns on when i plug it in, so that might just be how they come.

  • Hey! I was mulling over getting that N64 sign hah, I'm glad you got it!

Which leads me to wonder: I have a GBC neon in the same vein as this one, if I replaced the parts would that devalue the sign in any way? Because it doesn't have the "original" parts?

It depends on the parts. Like if the sign was all original but didnt function, yes, you should do what you need to in order to get it working again, such as re-gassing it or changing electrical components.

Yes, mine has an on-off switch, but this is on the "new" cord attached to the replaced transformer. It originally did not have an on/off, which is pretty annoying.

Thank you! I wasn't going to do it because i wasn't sure it could be fixed cheap enough. But it worked out in the end. Unfortunately a SNES sign came up right after and that was the sign i really wanted. So now i have both!   But i had a trim a bunch to afford that.

@Quaze- Yeah i am not sure what the deal is with no off switch lol BUT i am getting an Echo Dot, and some wifi outlet switches. That way i can just say Alexa "signs on" ot something like that, and my signs will all turn on without me having to bend over to plug things in which kills my back.
