No music from Model 2 Sega CD

The games have sound effects, but there's no background music. It probably doesn't matter, but I'm using coaxial. Waiting for the AV cables to come in the mail.

Using the original discs, so it's not a case of improperly burned copies.

I'm hoping it's not capacitor related, because I really don't wanna mess with soldering. Is there anything I could look for on the mobo?

  • Assuming by coaxial you mean RF? Are you using a Model 1 Genesis?

Yeah, RF cable. The one that screws into the back of the TV.

I'm using a Model 2. I do have a Model 1, but haven't tried it with the Sega CD. RF is all that came with the Model 2 when I bought it from the shop, so I have an AV cable coming.

  • I don't recall if the CD passthrough works with RF. Haven't used it in a really long time.
