NES Pro Action Replay (cardboard box)

Hey

Cleaning out my collection and came across this beauty. Had it for a long long time and kinda remember it was rare.

No clue what it's worth tho and can't find a lot about it. Does anyone have a ballpark figure for me?

  • no one?
  • Can't read anything in the picture. Wasn't the NES version more than Gameshark style cheat device? I think it allows save states or something.

I have the Naki Game Saver Plus for SNES, which does save states.

the Pro Action Replay (PAR) is a cheat device which alters RAM in a NES  game in this case  (unlike the Game Genie which alters ROM)

the Game Action Replay (GAR) is a save state device for NES.

  • That's Datels action Replay, over in the US they licensed the technology to Codemasters who put out the Game Genie (worth next to nothing) eventually sold to Galoob, followed by being acquired by Matell. If I recall correctly that device never officially came to the states instead we had the "Game Action Replay" That was not a cheat device, but rather a Save State device that would allow you to pick up where you left off, or flip back to previous saved states (Boss fights, beginning of level etc.) The Game action replay in box and excellent condition generally fetches $150 complete in good condition. I would personally place the pricing of that device around $30 based on its great condition with $50 being an extreme high end.
