Can't buy on somebodys auctions...?

So I tried picking up some items from someone on feebay. Finally got my question answered went to buy it now and it says transaction blocked. The person more less told me buy it now, so I don't think they purposely made it so I couldn't bid. The items in question are various pins and the user has a quantity style auction (I know there is a name for it, but I forget what it is called... dutch maybe?). I tried on a different pin and got the same thing.

I've never sold on ebay, but I have 43 feedbacks, all positive. So my question is, what options are available to sellers that would be blocking my bid/buy it nows?

If this is the wrong forum I apologize, I figured auction related = Auction forum...

  • I *ALWAYS* block international bidders on ALL of my eBay auctions. I clearly state "Only ship to the US, sorry no international shipping so please do not ask", yet I've had dozens of emails from international buyers begging for me to make an exception. And I haven't even sold anything remotely *rare* that would warrant such bidders. I'll ship internationally on NA, but I'm not dealing with the hassles of eBay and risking a negative from customs (even though eBay claims you cannot get a negative for this reason now).

You can also block 0 feedback bidders, or bidders that have won previous auctions. Not sure what else it could be...
  • hmm.. never won one of their auctions before and the auction is in the US... this is weird
  • stingray do you have non paying bidder strikes against you??? that can also cause this
  • nope, AFAIK i have a clean slate
  • well if all the other checks are through i'd suggest that the seller might have had a block after you buy a certain number of items ... so you'll have to ask the seller to add you to the safe list ... that will fix it (either that or the seller goofed and added you to his blocked list)
  • How about ebay warnings. I think a seller can also block those with recent ebay warnings. What else can a seller pick to block>?
  • No warnings either. I'm thinking they blocked me when I asked them a question about the pins (if they were the ones pictured or other ones)
