eBay buyer says it won't let him leave feedback for some reason

I sold an item for a friend. Before it ended, the high bidder contacted me. He apologized and said that, if he ends up winning the item, it would be a few days before he could pay (waiting for income tax refund). He suggested we cancel his bid if we were unwilling to wait a few days for payment. I checked with the owner and he said it would be fine to wait a few days, so we did not cancel the bid. The item sold to that same bidder for $1,000.00

 

He said he still wanted the item, but understands if we wanted to offer it to the second-place bidder and get paid sooner. My friend asked me to do that, but the second chance offer expired 24 hours later with no response from the second bidder.

 

No problem, though. The original winner came through with the payment. He has the item and he is happy with it. He wants to leave feedback, but says eBay won't let him do it for some reason.

 

Any ideas?

Sadly the mobile version of eBay sucks. And I mean the browser. Mine will randomly not allow me to leave people feedback, simply no option to do it.

I will try to press on "desktop" and it will take me to the desktop version. But as soon as I go to sell,purchased page it bring me back to the mobile. Again with no option to leave feedback. Heck sometimes I have to wait to go home and enter in tracking number.

I used to remember seeing a pretty obvious feedback button or link in my purchase history, but now I have to go into the 'more actions'. Maybe that has something to do with his troubles?

When did the buyer attempt to leave feedback? Ebay was having issues this morning and it could've been just the time he was leaving feedback. Ebay has a lot of glitches.

Tell him to log on eBay and use this link on a desktop computer: https://www.ebay.com/myb/PurchaseHistory



It will let him leave feedback.

There's also the mobile app that works great... 98% of the time. That 2% though can be so annoying. I know this isn't a big gripe, but once a transaction is complete, I like to hide it. On the app, you swipe left and tap "Delete", which is confusing but is the hiding function from the desktop site. Anyway, you can't do this until you've left feedback. However, there are times where I leave feedback, go to swipe and I can't? It's reporting that the feedback was left but I can't hide the purchase/sale until I get to my desktop.



There are multiple other minor annoyances like this. None of them a big deal, but annoying none-the-less. It wouldn't surprise me at all if this is the exact same thing.

Maybe making the second chance offer somehow disconnected the buyer from the item and ebay no longer has him as the buyer of record?

Wouldn't matter as far as feedback.

Leaving feedback is not as easy to spot as it use to be. Now I go to purchase history to leave feedback & maybe there is something similar on the mobile ebay app. As you already know I'm sure ebay allows 60 days to leave feedback.
