hong kong version NES system and HONG KONG CARTgames

Hi:

I am a Canadian and new to NintendoAge and am not sure if I am asking in the correct area.

I would like to sell my Hong Kong Version NES system which includes NES power brick, NES controller and av cable.

I can't seem to find one on Ebay to get an idea of a price.

I also have some Hong Kong Game Cartridge Co. Ltd. NES games most notably  Mah-Jong. It is loose.

I also have loose HONK KONG Game Cartridge Twin Bee,B Wings, 1942, and Soccer in box with sleeve,....

The other HONG KONG GAME CARTRIDGE GAMES have titles in Chinese :

loose Tiger-Heli ( believe I have translated it) , loose jajamaru no daibouken which MAY be Ninja 2 Adventure, Hokuto no Ken in box which MAY be Renegade, MUSCLE Kinnikuman in torn box, and one I haven' got any translation for ....it has 2 Sumo wrestlers on the label.

Lastly I have a red converter which I believe converts from 60 to 72 pins.

It is unique as it is made by NINTENDO and has HONG KONG VERSION on one side.

What price should I be asking for thses things?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Again, If I am asking in the wrong area I am sorry......

Thanks

  • This belongs in the seller board, but neat.
  • I give you 100 bucks for the Mah-Jong if real
  • I know Mah Jong is extremely rare. I remember a loose cart sold on eBay a year or two ago for $1000.

I think the other carts are around $20-$30 each ... but I'm not positive on that.
  • I have zero pricing data on "Hong Kong Game Cartridge" games, too hard for me to track them and far too many of them for what are just glorified pirates.

However, that Mah Jong in that condition would fetch about $500 - $750 if legitimate. I haven't seen enough of those games to determine whether it's legitimate or not though.
  • True. I have never seen Hong Kong versions of NES games but I imagine Mah Jong must go for a decent price.
  • Hi:

    Thanks for repsonding.

You mentioned that this belongs in the " SELLER BOARD".

Is this another section of NintendoAge?

    Thanks
  • Hi:

    Thanks for responding.

Do you know of a site where I could find out more about previous Ebay prices?

Is there another person who frequents this site who I might ask?

    Thanks
  • Thanks for responding.

If I were to sell these carts, would Ebay be the best forum or should I consdering selling on NintendoAge?

    Thanks

Please check the site rules on the etiquette needed to sell here. You have any questions, a mod can help you out.

As for looking at previous Ebay prices you can check Ebay's sold listings in their advanced search: https://www.ebay.com/sch/ebayadvsearch

So I paid under $200 for my CIB Hong Kong system (pictured below with my Mah Jong).  The Mah Jong is the tits of the Hong Kong set, I hate that the label corners on your copy are peeling up but if legit someone would still pay solid money for it.

As far as the HKGC games they seem to come and go in popularity.  I have always loved them but will only buy complete ones with box and posters, they didn't come with manuals.  Carts are usually $25-30.  But nice boxed copies can go over $100.  I've been offerred obscene amounts of money for my Goonies (pictured below with other of my HKGC collection) but it's the only copy I've ever seen in 20+ years so it's NFS!

    Hope this helps you.

  • I wish I knew how to even search for those HKGC games because then I would track them. As always I love your posts Eric
  • Hi:

Thanks for the very helpful response.

You have an amazing collection in amazing condition.

How long ago did you buy your boxed HK version NES system?

I have attached photos of 4 HKCC games which have titles in Chinese. Based on your collection,I wonder if you happen to know what the translation of them is?

On a Google search, I found photos of HKCC games posted by RetroG33K2, a Nintendoage member, on March 2, 2013.

Do you know how I can get in touch with him ? I tried clicking on ' directory' on the Nintendoage site and nothing opened.

    Thanks again for your help.

    Regards,

    Sam

  • Hi:

Ferris Bueller suggested that you might consider  authenticating my Maj Jong cart.

I tried to send photos to him but for some reason I could not attach files like I can in this area.

The photos may be over exposed but, if you need more, I could do some in natural light tomorrow.

Thank you in advance for looking at these for us.

    Regards,

    Sam
  • Interesting. It seems Hong Kong got some games exclusive to the region like Goonies and Majong being 72 pin. Are they pal or ntsc?

Goonies is a pirate, though Mahjong exists both as a pirate and as a legit release.
