I think my USBcopyNES just died.

Heya guys! Had to boot up my USBcopyNES to test some stuff I added to the ol' collection, but it's just showing me nothing but a white screen. Even when I do get something to come up it's just frozen chunky looking graphics. It's worked perfect fine for a long time, and I haven't done anything different or unusual that I can think of. Not a single game no matter how clean will work. I could always change the 72-pin, but I never put dirty games into it so you'd think it'd be fine. (It already had a new 72-pin installed when I got it.)

Is the pin the culprit or is it something else I should be worried about?

  • Yeah I would check to make sure the pins are cleans first if you have an extra pin connector maybe switch out. Also check to make sure that the Copy NES board didn't come loose since it socket that maybe the USB cable got tugged on and it came out
  • If you didn't disable the 10NES (and installation of CopyNES didn't require it), shouldn't you be seeing a blinking screen if it's just the connector going flaky? If it's a solid screen and garbled graphics with an intact 10NES chip, chances are you're looking at some other failure--possibly the CopyNES, but based on another thread I've been reading over the last few days, also possibly RAM or the PPU.
