Resealed Alert : Chrono trigger on eBay

This guy looks to pull a fake sealed from time to time, and now he's trying to get $400 for a Chrono Trigger. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it looks like a scam.

  • I can't believe this guy is still on Ebay. He is always selling reseals.
  • it just sold.....some of those edges look a bit shady to me.

i love how he wrote this:

but box is like in Brand new condition with few exception. The box has
fairly visible creases and minor tears from the  front and back. The
box shows very minor discoloration because water damaged,

so yeah, brand new except the creases, tears and mould from the water damage.
  • Look like they could still end up changing their mind and not sending it by the looks of their feedback. I wouldn't touch this seller with a 10-foot pole for that kind of money.
  • Yes, this is the same guy that's been pulling this crap for well over a year now. He's had several different usernames during this time. Some guys figured out that he even bought shrinkwrapping supplies on ebay with his same selling account a while back.
  • How do you guys know that´s not a real sealed one? I´d like to know how to identify that too.
  • and if i may, are there ways to tell a resealed y-fold (PS2)?

It's pretty obvious in every way, in addition to the fact that this seller has been selling reseals under different names for over a year now.  If his clue about the box being damaged and the wrap being torn and the seal looking like shit doesn't clue in, I'm not sure how else we can tell you image

Not that I have found...I have yet to see a fake Y-fold game...those seals are very difficult to replicate.  Plus there is little point to do so as PS2 games aren't worth much (yet),

Yes, we pretty much knew about this seller a long time ago, so it's very easy for us to draw a conclusion here.  But otherwise, knowing if the seal is legit largely comes from experience.  There are many things to look for, with  the shrinkwrap and box being the two general categories.  There are always the tell-tale signs of cardboard stress in certain areas which give it away.
