lots of peeps havent got into snes and N64 set collecting though...

Dream is just ridiculous and belongs in a completely different category than everybody else.

I'm done with N64 except for 10 manuals (I'm just too lazy to finish it)
Not done with SNES, but pretty close. I think I have just under 600 CIB games
    Virtual Boy is done

I've been losing my focus WAY too much, though. I always tell myself I'm going to strictly focus on finishing my CIB SNES set, but then I go way off on other (Nintendo-related) tangents

I've got 200+ CIB GBC games
175 CIB GBA games, plus another 100 empty boxes with manuals
    100 CIB Gamecube games
    50 CIB GameBoy games

If I didn't get into GameBoy stuff within the last year/year and a half, I could have easily had a CIB SNES set. Instead I chose to buy hundred upon hundreds of GB/GBC/GBA games

  • wow, that's still good gettin a great headstart in the handheld market, I may venture into the gameboy stuff if I get all done and still have an urge to collect and expand

  • wow, did not know that!, that's pretty awesome...snes always seems to be tough for peeps to complete, I am very anxious to get my N64 collection done in the next few months, and then all that will be left will be 4 nes games

    My cartridge only collections:

    • NES NTSC set (PAL SE)
    • SNES NTSC set, (with Super 3D Noah's Ark, All comp carts and macs set-up)
    • N64 NTSC set
    • Virtual Boy NTSC set (need Jack Bros, mine has no label)

I have small collections for almost every console, above are the collections I wanted to complete. I don't collect hand helds, I do not consider Virtual Boy to be a portable/hand held.

None, I don't collect anything unlicensed (Tengen, Panesians etc...), I only grabbed Noah's Ark do to the fact it is the only SNES game unlicensed.

  • still sweet though!, what happens to be your count for snes games, my list was 726 with military games, does that match up with yours?

So if we had to put a number on it what would it be? I guess you could start off by figuring out who has Stadium Events right? Going by the list on "Collectors Corner" the site says 23 people own it. Now of course that assumes they completed their collections (loose or CIB).Now I we know not everybody that has a complete set is registered here, let alone put their name on the list,  but what numerical guesstimate do you think we could come up with? I am referring to the NTSC collection.

wow quoting myself.. anyway have we gotten any closer on determining a number?? I would guess 30?? Too high? of course this is nothing more than an estimate.

  • It really would be hard to tell for sure because there may very well be 100 or more users that lurk and do not post with complete sets. Even the people who have publicly stated they have SE are missing some games in many cases.

Damn, Ray is that close?  You have to get him to post here more often, he's a cool dude.

Also, Zelda Nexus on the DP forums claimed to have (and ultimately sell) a sealed SE not too long ago.  More info can be found here:  messageview.cfm?catid=5&threadid=13909&highlight_key=y&keywo...

No pics + No Buyer = Bullshit until I see otherwise.

hmm first time i saw that threa, but i remember trying to work a deal like back in 06 with zelda nexuz on DP and he claimed to have a CIB stadium events, claimed someone just brought it in the store and traded it in lol. i find it hard to believe hes had cib and sealed Se's in his hands before lol. who knows tho

you never know, but yeah that guy had like zero credibility

you meaning cib  i just have the cart and a pal box . that post i meant i wanted all the gamecube games cib.

As far as other nintendo collcetors. Im sure there may be a small handful of people who are serious collectors who arent members, but in todays day and age im sure there wouldnt be many serious collectors who havent been on a computer and to a forum, that would want to brag a little about there collection. as far as nintendo games that are in the possesion of people who put games away in the attic or basement it would be anyones guess

  • I've got NES, SNES, N64, GB, GBC, GBA, and VBOY all CIB and I "might" be missing a couple of those 4 in 1 multi packs for GBA, but I am not certain. I need to go through the lists of which ones came out and check mine....I do have all the GBA Videos and multis, though.

I've got about 600 Nintendo DS games, and 250+ Wii games which I definitely recommend keeping up with because some of those are going to be stupid hard to locate later on with all these random companies making games these days.

I have to imagine that spending a day at your house is a lot like Homer spending a day in the Land of Chocolate.

  • hey dream, do you have any of those super rare VB Japanese games? Like SD gundam, virtual lab, virtual bowling, etc?
  • ^^ I have 3 of the 4 rare Japanese VB games all in mint condition; SD Gundam, Virtual Lab and Space Invaders,.

I can't remember the last time I saw a Virtual Bowling, that really is one of the rarest games of all time on any platform.

you arent kidding on the wii games there are some really worthless games out there
  • sparky, yes, I have a complete Japanese Vboy collection as well, including Virtual Bowling. I have some protos for that system and a weird demo as well as VIdeo Boy TV unit for VBOY.

wrldstrman: Pure crap is right. Nintendo used to be about quality. What a joke these days with some 3rd party stuff released, but I still buy it all up.
  • Nintendo's third party quality has been lacking ever since the 64. I think this is where their regard has a kid's/casual system really hurts them, as the 3rd party feels like it can just shovel out junk and the kids won't know any better.

I have 18 Wii games, and only four of them are 3rd party. Two of those four I had to buy to get the system as part of a bundle when it was released.

Hey Dream, you ever find a box for Captain America and the Avengers for GameBoy?  I thought I remembered reading that you had given up trying to locate that one.

  • ^DreamTR: Cool. I had heard it was the hardest one to come by for a GB collection. Am I wrong on that?

    ^buyatari2: Damn... That's sexy.

Not even a shoutout for selling it to you for cost?  image

  • Jesus what is it with this game?  As many of you know I don't care for Gameboy but collect Sega Game Gear.  People talk about this one for Game Gear like it doesn't even exist.  I got the only book I've ever seen on it years ago and I bought the ONLY cart I've ever seen of it in a lot that cost me around $200 and it was the only good thing in the lot.  AND I'VE NEVER SEEN THE BOX.  Now I know DreamTR has one but I've never seen any including his.  Must just be a universal short print game across the board for all systems.  If anyone has this box or has a sealed one I would love to buy or trade for it.

  • i have a store in my town that might have this game. they have about 40 boxed Game Gear games and about 20 loose ones. I will check for you if you like. I thiknk they are late release Game Gear titles.
  • I think it just depends on your collecting cycle when you are looking for games what the "hardest" ones may be.

Believe me, if I say I have something, I have it, but I can't go digging all the time for stuff in the archives... =P
