  • ^ Dude that is WEIRD to see a Mega Man game produced by Sega. I would have never knew that existed...

Believe me, if I say I have something, I have it, but I can't go digging all the time for stuff in the archives... =P

Not even that, but what always makes me laugh is that every one of your insanely rare items is always dead fucking mint haha.  Beautiful pic, I had no idea of the rarity of this one.
  • I don't even care about condition usually. Not like i have a box protector or anything for some of those games =P
  • Very nice pic though, it's always nice to see pics of stuff we will never see anywhere else...

I've got about 600 Nintendo DS games, and 250+ Wii games which I definitely recommend keeping up with because some of those are going to be stupid hard to locate later on with all these random companies making games these days.

Hey Dream, you ever find a box for Captain America and the Avengers for GameBoy?  I thought I remembered reading that you had given up trying to locate that one.

    This one?

  • Wilson did I ever say I doubted you? Why would you make anything up at this point in your collecting life? image I just said I've never seen one. I'm glad you actually have one since it means it does exist and since you already have it I won't have to fight you for it. image
  • no luck on that store having that Captin America game image

wow, now that's more like it LOL!

A pleasure and a privilege to help you towards your set image

  • OK ....what is the value of a complete licensed set both loose and complete? I am wondering the price difference.
  • Complete licensed set loose = probably $3500-$5000. Complete licensed set CIB = $13,000-$17,000 (most of that being from Stadium Events ($7000-$8000) and Flintstones 2 ($800-$1000)). Obviously, these figures do not include NWCs image .
  • I think that the CIB set would be more, right? I mean without SE it would still be over 5,000 I'd think...
  • ^ Most definitely, there no collectors on this board who would sell their SE BOX alone for less than 5 figures (MRN offered 10k for one I believe).

SE CIB is probably close to 12k itself, F2 about $1k, Samson about $400, then there's all sorts of $100+ titles like Snow Brothers, Rescue Rangers 2, Color a Dino (closer to $200 prolly), etc. Not to mention all of the high end RPGs like DWIII/IV, Bandit Kings, and so forth.

I'd guess closer to 20k+ for a full licensed CIB set. Not that hard to imagine, especially considering we haven't even touched on BB titles like DK Math and Stack Up image
  • ^That sounds a little better Jone, I would have said 20-25.
  • ^ Yeah, now that I'm thinking about it, I'd probably say close to 23k if I had to give a point estimate. We can't forget all of the titles who see STUPID price increases from cart to CIB like Chubby Cherub / Sqoon / DK Math...
  • I was going to say... I'll buy anyone's licensed CIB complete set for 12k right now.
  • If you sold a CIB set, piece by piece, I'd guess you would make $25K+ with today's prices. That accounts for the crazy factor that surfaces with contiguous listings (ie, games going for double, triple, etc).
  • I thought a complete loose set would be worth more than $3,500. I would have thought a complete loose set would be worth closer to $7,000 considering the amount of time (and certain carts) it would take to gather it all up.
  • i agree with dain. 25k+ for a complete set (50% of that being SE) in todays market. lots depends on condition as well, but like dain said, when you put up a bunch of single auctions and combine shipping... prices go very high very fast!
  • Yeah it is so very interesting to me to watch when someone lists a "collection" for sale one item at a time but say 50 or more ending in a row on a given day. There is ALWAYS a price multiplier of 1.5-3 times the value. It's an interesting phenomenon for sure!

Yes, I also have seen this happen a few times, very strange sometimes, but ultimately seems very profitable for the seller, people get so hell bent  on paying extra to have combine shipping it seems...

and, my two cents, I think a cart only nes set, with everything except NWC would be, 7200-9800 dollars, if it had, panesians, myriad, SE, and basically every licensed/unlicensed game, 774 count

  • well 774 games at 10.00 each would be 7,740.00 dollars but not many if anyone could afford to buy a complete set all at once so the only way to get max money is selling one by one. anyone who sold off a large collection care to let everyone know what they made
  • yes I would like to know
  • Only 2 to go to complete the PAL B cart collection.

There are some realy nasty PAL B games which are damn hard to find because they where only sold to 1 country a think that NTSC doesn't have I think?
  • I've got a loose licensed set (no NWC, although I don't count that), and all unlicensed except Caltron, Myriad, Panesians, and Cheetahmen II. Working on all the instructions, but I'm just getting started (around 350). I don't think I'll get into collecting the boxes, because it will just end up in a search for an SE box. I've already done that with the cart, don't care to do it again!
  • I'm about 140 away from the complete licensed/unlicensed loose set. I don't have any of the real rares except F2.
  • Mr Mark Just got his and mine is 6 away from completion.

I think I will start a post that keeps track of members with a complete licensed set. What do you guys think about that? We already have a post listing the exspensive carts so why not?
  • I'm no where near having a complete NES collection. I have about 18 carts or so.
  • You should do two lists One with a complete licensed collection and one with a complete licensed collection minus Stadium Events, I bet a ton of people are missing that game

  • I am working on how I want to do it. I will just have to fit people into a couple of categories. Their set might not fit exactly in one of the categories, but I am not going to type out everyones different opinion of what a complete set is.
