During that broadcast Romo basically showed why Dak was the wrong choice.
Great game by Tony in the booth
Don't see how his ability to predict plays in the booth proves anything related to Dak. Once agin you ignore how injury prone Romo became. Starting week 2 in 2015 he received a severe injury in 3 of his last 5 games he played until retirement. Same injury against Carolina, and then a back injury against Seattle in preseason that he got injured on in a textbook tackle from behind that any other player wouldn't have been injured on. Romo made the right choice to retire and go to the booth because anywhere he played he would have got injured. He was done.
um no. freak injury vs seattle. I guess you missed that extremely freak awkward tackle. Landing vertically on his neck back right into the ground. He was better than dak and still cost dallas a fortune to let go.
It has to do with Dak because Romo has 100 times more Football IQ and 100 times better at throwing the football and checking into and out of the right plays. If you couldnt see the difference in him since 2013/14 on the field you are blind.
He didnt retire because of injuries. Im sure its in his head that hes getting towards the end, but he retired because he wanted to be the starting QB for the cowboys and didnt want to play somewhere else. He came back and played vs Philly when given a chance. Of course 3 of his last 5 games he was injured. One collarbone season and the preseason game. It wasnt his fault they didnt let him come back and play. Cowboys took his job away cowardly imo to go with a flash in the pan rookie who now has shown he is not that great.
Did you not listen to his speech he gave when they demoted him? The most classy shit ever and you can tell he wanted to play so bad and was ready to go.
Anyway Im not going to debate you, because you are insufferable and never drop it. You are one of the anti romo cowboy fans and you hitched your wagon to dak early on and youve tried to back off but you cant.
I've seen Dak take worse hits than that and get up like nothing happened. Romo was getting old and it didn't take much. The collarbone injury against the Eagles looked like the most regular tackle ever and it put him out for 9 weeks. Romo's body was just frail, youd have to be a friggen blind man to not see it.
Part of the reason he didnt want to play for a different team is because of the injuries he had sustained and another year for a franchise he didnt care for would put a lot of strain on his body. He would only do that for Dallas. I think its pretty obvious.
Irrelevant.
Wrong. I'm not anti-romo. There is a difference between thinking he was a really good QB and being anti-romo. There is also a difference between thinking he was a really good qb and revisionist history. I'm not a revisionist, that is your territory.
Anyway I'm picking the Patriots over the Rams in the super bowl. I have very little interest in this game so I'll probably not even watch it.
I also have little intrest in the game but this will be the first Superbowl that I drink while I watch the game. My friends and I love footall so we have a low key party and drink after because you can't really enjoy the game when you're trashed. But this year, once they kick the ball off some whiskey is finding it's way into the kid's belly.

As long as it's good whiskey and not the cheap stuff
How freaking bonkers was yesterday? Not one but two overtime games?!?!?!
That Saints no-call is going to go down in history as one of the worst ever. We were just talking in this thread about how flags and I feel non-flags should be reviewable/challengeable. That was just flat out ridiculous. The Packers have had some really shitty endings the last handful of years in playoff games, but woah this one takes the cake. It would have been what a 1st & goal, with minimal time left basically game over.
The Patriots and especially Gronk really stepped it up at the end there - how impressive was that despite a gassed KC defense. Whomever was commentating that game hit the head on the nail so many times, they were like oh look at this matchup boom 1st down over and over again. Then at the end they were like - wow KC defense is gassed they should call a timeout. Nope, snap TD game over.
So sad for the Saints and Chiefs. The Chiefs had a roller coaster of emotions at the end, there were 2 or 3 different times it seemed like they locked the game down. Terminator Tom did it again, just wow it reminded me of the SB against the Falcons, him and his O-line were like machines. If they win the SB, I think Tom/Gronk/Bill very well might be done.
That was Tony Romo, who needs to be a defensive coordinator somewhere.
And Reid is a moron for not calling a timeout or two during that to give his guys a break and to stop momentum.
Andy Reid is the all-time undisputed champion of clock mismanagement.
Man, never count out Touchdown Tom.
Sad to see the Saints eliminated, especially like that.
Rams should be favored in two weeks, but I'm sure it will be an excellent game. Any updates on Gurley?
Rams opened 1 point favorite and 89% of the money went Pats, so it shifted to Pats 2 point favorites. Rams D has underperformed most of the year and Goff has struggled quite a bit since Kupp went down. The Rams need to be able to run the ball, because if they can’t the Pats will win easily imo. Pats secondary is too good and the pass rush has been fantastic the past month.
Something everyone ignored while giving the Brady cliff hot takes is that Brees might have actually stepped off the cliff this season. His last 8 games were quite bad, and he played poorly on Sunday as well. Pats, conversely, are peaking at the right time.
Chiefs fired Bob Sutton. A little late for that. Imagine if they fired him last year when they should have and had hired a half way decent coach. The Chiefs would be in the super bowl easily right now.
I'm gonna go with the Pats by 10 in this one. I think Belichick draws up a perfect game plan to stop the Rams O. The key will be how the Pats O-Line stops Donald, but I would imagine it's a heavy dose of counters/draws/screens and pop passes as far as play calling goes.
Intrigued to see how this goes. I can't see the Rams front five struggling with stunts and ILB blitzes the way Kansas City did, and they've got the generally tried-and-true recipe for stymieing the Patriots (enough talent to pressure with the front four, seven back) albeit with mixed results. A lot of this might come down to how much pressure the play-action game can take off. If Sony Michel puts up another 100 yards and mix those carries among the intermediate routes that Brady thrives on, they could repeat the run-them-ragged time of possession.
What New England often does best is suppress the best one or two players on an opposing offense and force opponents to look for tertiary targets. Kansas City figured it out, but a bit too late. They might be able to lock down Cooks and Woods, but will Kupp, Reynolds, and Higbee be able to step up when Goff starts to get to them in the progressions?
I also expect Wade Phillips to draw up a better gameplan than Bob Sutton.

That said, never count out Touchdown Tom.
I'll say 31-23 Pats.
You bring up a good point about Wade Phillips. In the 2015/2016 AFC championship game the Wade basically neutralized the Patriots offense. That being said they were able to get the pressure all day with 4 players on the d-line, which nobody has even touched brady this postseason with 4 rushers, and they had a beast secondary that forced Brady to hold onto the ball and take sacks, which again nobody could do this postseason. Wade has to dial up some blitzes on 3rd down and force some errant throws from Brady to make sure the Pats dont have momentum all game.
The Pats defense isn't great, the Rams also have a fantastic offensive line that opens up some holes in the run game. The Rams have a shot if they can run the ball all game and keep their defense fresh.
Im expecting it close, guess I'd take the rams. Wouldn't wager money either way. All comes down to pressure on Brady. If you do that you win if you dont you lose. Really as simple as that. I mean really get some sacks and knockdowns, not just hurries.
These commercials are terrible. I remember when super bowl commercials used to be a reason to watch the super bowl. That's a thing of the past apparently because every year they become less funny every year.
This is really going to come down to Darth Hoodie's defense stopping Goff and company after any halftime adjustments, isn't it? Wow. Not at all what the prognosticators had in mind - so many 30, 35, 40 point predictions.
The moment was too big for McVay and Goff. Goff missed throws and reads all game and mcvays play calling was terrible. They blitzed all day and they didn't have the quick route ready.
