  • Whatever Denver pays Keenum, it's too much.

Mahomes was clutch in that 4th, if a certain QB had even an ounce of that then the Bears would've beaten Green Bay in week 1
  • Mahomes put the team on his back to win that one. Case keenum, however, missed a wide open DT for the game winner. Not a good look for an $18 million a year QB.

If you watch that again, part of the blame is on DT, he was slow out of his break and didn't get as wide as a wr typically does on that route against a zone.

That's a good point. But even if DT ran that route perfectly and blazing he would still have to make a jump to grab the ball which gives the defender a chance at diving to push him out of bounds. Keenum overthrew it and so most of the blame should still be on him.
  • Fitzmagic is officially over. Jameis the rapist is starting at QB this week. Kindof sad how one bad week can change it all.

The Bears have forced the backup to come into the game in 3/4 games (though Rodgers was due to injury). Hoping that continues in a couple weeks in Miami.

  • At least none of you guys gave a win to the Browns....
  • Another perfect pass dropped right into defender's arms for an easy INT. Three so far this year for Brady.
  • And now four lol. For fuck's sake.
  • Eric Ebron has been solid for the Colts. Lions fans were trashing him these last couple years. Looks like a change of scenery is what he needed.

edit: Colts secondary looks bad. Double coverage TD for Flash Gordon! Pretty good for a WR3   Pats got a beast!
  • Holllyyyyyy shit Josh Gordon
  • I miss the days when Pats/Colts was must watch. One of my favorite football rivalries. Colts just suck so much ass now.
  • Never thought Luck would look like this again.
  • Joe Flacco is more elite than Andrew Luck... and I'm not even kidding.

Did you watch the game last night? Luck looked great, his arm strength and accuracy were both miles ahead of week 1, his receivers dropped tons of balls. Looked better than Flacco has looked, that's for sure.
  • I would agree on the Flacco piece, but they both are playing good football right now. Flacco seems like an entirely different QB with his new set of receivers, out there killing it.

I will say though, Luck played damn fine last night for not having Hilton - just so many dropped passes. I feel like the biggest idiot for swapping Ebron for Gronkowski at the last minute in fantasy, NE's defense was marked as 2nd best against the TE - well scratch that noise. I might have to see about trading Gronk at this point, he is falling off the fantasy map. Ebron has hit pay dirt in almost every game.

I will say Brady did look good out there after bashing him a bit last week, Edelman was a game changer. However, on that Gronk tipped pick, Brady threw the ball behind him which opens the door for that stuff, whether he meant to or not with the tight window.

Lol, that ball was exactly where it's supposed to be in a zone with the safety over the top and had no bearing on the turnover. Go back and rewatch the clip, it wasn't tipped, the ball was fully in Gronks hands and the hit jarred it out.

I meant through the hands of Gronk, after it was jarred etc.  What I am saying is you don't make dangerous throws to receivers behind them, it's playing with hot fire for a big hit from the defense - this is a perfect example Gronk had to basically do a 360.

I place that INT on Brady for sure, and am willing to bet he regretted that throw as soon as Gronk took the hit.  He has to look elsewhere or sneak in a over the shoulder throw on the right side.

Now the Hogan tipped interception was just a terrible job on the WR's part.

Haha, ok not sure you understand a zone and how throws work in them. When a QB leaves a WR out to dry, it’s the exact opposite as what you are saying. The most dangerous throws are the ones where the QB leads the WR out front and high, so the DB can absolutely smoke the WR in the front.

I just watched the play another 10 times in slow motion. Not only is Brady not at fault, it's an absolutely incredible throw. As Gronk makes his break, the inside linebacker plays it perfectly for a throw on Gronk's left, Brady throws it to the open space on the right, which forces Gronk to turn to catch the ball, which also shields him and the ball from the safety. Gronk has time to catch the ball and fully pull it into his body if he's expecting a big hit, which he fails to do.

Ok watching that highlight on nfl.com, at 4 minute mark, I just don't see how that is a smart pass.  It's dangerous to have your TE spin around like that wouldn't you agree?  Especially since he was relatively covered...now Gronk is basically running turned around backwards so I suppose he lured him in to the left side there (seems the right side had a nicer safer window).

What I do see though, is Edelman coming around for an easy pickup on the right side.  That would have been a scoring drive no doubt...I just can't put that int on Gronk.

No the throw is perfect. Edelman definitely looks like he would be open as well, but his break is made after the outside linebacker who is responsible for a deep hook drop towards Edleman's side, has already committed to going towards Gronk. The safety made a nice hit and deserves more credit than anyone deserves blame, but Brady deserves none IMO.
  • Interesting...felt like a considerably risky decision watching it live last night.
  • Can all the knee jerk reaction people slow down now? Everybody started claiming the patriots rule is over after the Lions loss. I knew that they would be back and they are. And the Patriots will repeat as the AFC champions this year, too. The AFC is simply not competitive enough.

Eh, I picked Rams over Pats as my preseason SB pick but I wouldn't be so sure. Pats dont want any part of the Ravens in the playoffs and Ravens actually have receivers to go with the defense. Steelers can get well when Bell is back and KC can get home field advantage with an explosive offense. Pats have one of better systems but there are other teams with more talent. Pats D will also be their downfall in the playoffs.

Can they do it sure, but I don't think odds are in their favor honestly.
  • Meh, I picked the Rams to win it all this year. But most teams are a key injury away at anytime... still so much season to watch.
  • Dude, what the hell happened to Mason Crosby. He is looking like a Vikings kicker.
  • Tannyfail. Wow.
  • TANNYFAIL.
