  • Lots of good progress being made on it in the hacking department. They can reach the hidden menu without a keyboard now, and load games on it. Watched a youtube video of someone playing mega man legends and looked great, ran great. Its getting closer to being fully open like the nes/snes

I heard about the $25 gift card along with the $75 price, but I haven't actually see that yet. For that deal, I would probably bite assuming the gift card can be used on basically anything (like Amazon).

Amazon still has the $25 gift card option up right now on the website and it can be used on anything on the site. They are just out of stock. Likely was a way to dump a good portion of them as they knew the full price would be a hard sell, and it seems to have worked.

Wonder how many of these are going to be returned after Christmas?

Not many, coz a lot of parents don't keep the receipts!

But, seriously, I took a picture from my phone but I saw on OfferUp a scalper had one for $400... I nearly fell out of my chair laughing.  Of course, this joker will just return it and get his money back, but still pointed and had a hearty laugh.

You must have never been in a Wal-Mart after Christmas.   As long as the UPC scans in their system, you can return it no matter where it came from.

That and most places take returns with just needing your debit or credit card to scan. I do it at Target, Home depot, Gamestop, etc. all the time

  • I'm worried about getting it to hack it and there won't be a lot of space to put a lot of games on it. I don't know much about how this stuff works but my snes classic that I hacked can only hold a handful of GBA games. I can only assume the playstation games take up so much more room.

Only a handful seems low...the GBA roms aren't that big are they.  I could fit a hearty SNES collection on mine and I believe the whole NES collection on my NES mini.

From the tiny bit I've heard about the PSClassic hacking though, we might be able to leverage USB flash drives to pull the iso's from - that would be slick as hell.  Glad I kept mine at this point, can't wait for the Bleem app to get released (I believe similar to Hakchi).

I have every NES game and then some (homebrew, hacks) on my NES Classic. Looking forward to the inevitable "perfect hack" for the PS1.

  • IIRC, compression works well with PS1 ISOs, so maybe we can get it up to 60-80 PS1 games.

I could only fit like not even 30 on mine and that's after I took everything else off. 1 GBA game is like the equivalent of like 15 SNES games.

I have a bet going with some people in a PS1 FB group that it will be $50 in the next few months or lower. Will be interesting to see what happens.

  • I was excited to hear about this coming out but after reading many of these posts,I'm glad I did not try to get one on the day of its' release. I'd still like to get one eventually...and when the price drops a bit more....or would it even be worth it at all?

I think $59 of their funny money is less than 50 bucks of ours already?

People are using cartwheel. Which from my understanding is some type of coupon system with the Target app.

  • I tried and it said it applied the 40% discount but when I go to my cart it shows regular price, I need to figure this out.

Cartwheel is in store only as far as I’m aware. You have the have the cashier scan the barcode in the app.

Thanks, I figured that out earlier, gonna give it a try.
  • Got one for S&Gs. $36.07 OTD.
  • So with just a coupon in the target app you can get this for $35 in store?

Yup. YMMV. Seems hit or miss depending on how the store treats it.
