  • I just decided fuck it and downloaded the Crash N' sane Trilogy for my Switch instead of bothering with this in the end! Seems a suitable alternative, lol!

I wonder if there has been an uptick in sales for this game, or the Spyro trilogy? I hope that comes out for Switch too, I'll grab that straight away! Gotta treat these Playstation blue balls somehow!
  • Did anyone get one at target for $36 with the app?
  • Never mind it works :-)
  • This thing is already on clearance? Man the people selling these things must be bleeding money over this...

Yeah it takes it going down in price this much for people to buy it, this thing just SUCKS.

  • Not hard for me to absorb the financial hit buying this POS but there is something much greater that has impacted me. The hit I feel toward the Sony brand. Really disappointed in Sony. I have been a huge fan of Sony since the 1980's and this thing just fell short in many ways. Shame on you Sony. Akio Morita and Masaru Ibuka are spinning in their fucking graves!!!! Nintendo got the fucking last laugh on this one!!!! :-)

    Happy New Year.
  • Yeah I am just absolutely disgusted with Sony and how this product could have ever been released.

I am not buying anything Sony brand ever again.
  • I am so happy resellers are stuck with losing money on these.

Ill buy after their next price drop, just so I can set it next to my nes and snes classics.

I returned mine and rebought it for the $60 price. No shame.. they have a return policy and they are committed to stand by it

  • I'm waiting on more price plummeting on it too. I don't like how it runs kind of shaky, but really what bothered me was the game list they really didn't put any good effort or thought into. I was suspicious awhile ago when they only told people about 5 of the games in the line up and hid the others until almost sales time. They knew it was garbage, there's no other explanation, but they wanted those pre-sells on it hoping enough would just keep it and not return the things. Sony isn't stupid, lazy and neglectful, one to take advantage of their fans sure, but stupid not at all. I've had every system of theirs so this isn't some fanboy rant either as much like the PS4 I'm genuinely disappointed in them with this one but even more so, because at least with PS4 they tried at least.

I'm watching the hack scene. I'm not someone to ever mod a system, I like to leave things as they are and enjoy them, but I see no value in enjoying almost any of what is on that thing at all. I don't have a library much for my real PSone, but the games I do almost nothing of it is on that system and some of it has no reason not to appear at all given what Sony controls on their own, let alone some obvious franchise choices those who did back it could have done. If this thing gets NES classic easy to tinker with within reason I'm going to give it an honest list of real PS1 greats. I don't use cartwheel and it seems kind of shaky if they'll even do the price, because if this were a sure bet I'd go out tomorrow since it's late now and snap one up at Target for $35 no questions asked.
  • My friend got one as a gift for Christmas, his gf paid $75 at Target. Once it went to $60 he went in and they gave him $15 bucks back. Then I told him all of you were getting $36 through the cartwheel app in store, so I told him to do the same, he called to check before he bothered going and they told him they'd honor it until tomorrow (28th) so he went back and got another $24 back. Thanks to everyone for the heads up! Pretty cool of Target to make good on that.
  • I still wouldn't pay $36. Once the modded systems get down around $125 or so, I'll pick one up.
  • Just got it for $35.99 plus tax at Target. Price rang up for $99.99, so the woman matched Amazon's price. Another employee called for her on the radio as I was bringing up the Cartwheel 40% coupon and that's probably why she hurriedly applied the additional discount on top of the price match.

YMMV. I think I was lucky.

What I did was I showed the guy it was on the target site for $60 then I showed him that the cartwheel offer was in store only and to scan the barcode offer and that was it. They have to honor it cause it's a legit sale and offer . I think it ends tomorrow as well . You're also able to grab up to 6 of them with this offer but I don't think anyone is doing that lol.

I don't think that happened to any significant amount. If someone tried to buy them up at launch, they would have realized the next day that the product was a disaster, not selling-out anywhere. They would have returned them all to the store for full refund.

Yes it did, I know people that actually camped out for them.   I assume they return them,  but I don’t care enough to follow up. Either way they are either out time or money for failing at being dirty resellers so I am satisfied.

  • Every single one ever sold should still be within the holiday return period. It's only 3 weeks old.
  • I hope they paid cash and threw away the recipts!
  • I'm assuming this isn't a thing anymore (the Target price)

    Ends today 12/29
  • I tried using it yesterday and with the discount it was at about $69, bummer I would have picked one up if it was Round 35 to 40

If you show them the price on their site first they'll match it at $60 then after that have them scan the barcode for the 40% off and it'll be a little less then $40 after tax
  • Eat a bag of dicks Sony. Returned both my pre-orders today for $211.98 back into my pocket. Was able to grab a few promo items from the most kind Store Leader at Gamestop. This double sided poster is gorgeous!!

  • Since Sony knew what they did as they were doing it,I wonder when they are going to issue their formal apology to fans?

Or are they just going to ignore the feedback and act like PlayStation is an altogether disliked system going forward?
  • I dont even hate the product that much, but the immediate price cut hurts. Im returning mine to Target to repurchases, saving 40 bucks which is 1-2 more switch games lol. I feel like they should have sent coupons or something out to pre-orders/early buyers.

The modding is moving along great on it, seems to run large amount of titles fine and they keep getting more and more on there.

I'd really like to see Nintendo go back on previous statements and make an N64 Classic Edition for $99 with two controllers, just to prove to investors and speculators that, even after Sony's fiasco, enthusiasm hasn't died and Nintendo's intellectual property back catalog still has incredible value.

Let’s not get too far off topic, but I still think N64 classic is a possibility, just requires a period of lower sales revenue with Nintendo before they would unleash it

  • I can't imagine an N64 classic being financially viable. It's often cited at one of the worst Nintendo home consoles. Just not seeing it happen

You should see the enthusiasm in r/N64 on Reddit.

The system is divisive, but it has a huge fan base. I would know since my twin brother and I have installed 200+ UltraHDMI upgrades over the last year and a half.

I’d love to respond to that but this is the PlayStation classic thread
