  • Eh, Celtics just thumped the Bulls by 30. (without Morris even in the lineup) And during their last road trip, Kyrie missed at least 1 game for sure due to the passing of his Grandfather.

Hayward recently acknowledged that his minutes would be best served coming off of the bench, so that could be the tweak they need to really get rolling. Friday night game against the Raptors should be a better indicator of where they're at currently than just looking at their previous 5 games. If Hayward can return to form at any point during the regular season, they'll still be the team to beat in the East (with or without the #1 seed).

The key word there is the bulls lol. They are one of the worst teams in the league. And while i understand they were without Kyrie a single game, they went down by almost 20 in every single game with or without him and had to dig out of a hole. Many missed easy layups, bad passes, terrible rotating, and some of the worst shooting %'s i have ever seen from them. I watched every game and couldn't believe how many shots they were missing.

It will all fall together, it just is going to take time. I say 25 games and we should start seeing what they can do.

As for hayward, he definitely should have been coming off the bench this whole time. Nobody really understands why he hasn't. He has a minutes restriction and he is messing up the flow of games. For now. He will be fine, his ankle already looks solid i think it is mostly mental at this point and just getting back to speed for rotations.

Gotta remember he has never played a single game with these guys up until this year. So it isn't just injury, but integrating into a whole new team. Dude does not have it easy right now.

The Raptors and Jazz are definitely good tests this weekend to see where we are. But so far they have been struggling. Growing pains if you will.
  • First test passed. Celtics attacked the paint more tonight. Gordon didn't look as lost, and wow is Kyrie an absolute beast

Hell yeah man, they pulled things together and actually looked like the Celtics team they were projected to be. Can't wait to see them in a few months.

Had a blast watching them play in Indianapolis a couple weeks ago. C's lost on a last sec Oladipo 3pter, but we still had a good time. I'm jealous if you're going to TD Garden. There's nothing else like it. I've seen 2 games up there (once against the Lakers during the KG, Pierce, Kobe days) and the crowd is awesome.

Btw, that same Bulls team that the Celtics beat by 29 just dropped 40 pts in the first qtr against the Buck IN Milwaukee. Lol

I don't even understand how the bucks played that badly. They are only down by 13 now though with half the game so we'll see what it ends at. Even the worst teams in the league have good games, likewise with great teams having bad games. Just look at GS with some of their losses this year. The bucks are going to have growing pains for a while, but i am a big fan of Giannis and middleton.

That oladipo game was painful, he made a nice shot. The Celtics have an amazing fan base for sure, during the playoffs last year it was one of the loudest crowds i had ever heard. I am hoping to make it to a couple games this year. Would love to catch a 76ers game just so i can watch them stomp Embiid and now also Butler.

Edit- Bucks up by 8 with nearly 40 while bulls have 11 points in the 3rd   Knew that wouldn't last.

Lots of stuff going on in the NBA world right now. Really want to hear what Draymond Green has to say........

Don't forget about Carmelo Anthony getting the boot after 10 games.

  • Melo left on his own. He apparently tried the bench role. Didnt like it and left. Vet minimum , so no harm no foul.

Rockets have no forward depth now, but gary clark at pf has been a terrific undrafted rookie surprise.

Carmelo is just one lazy unmotivated dude. I honestly think he checked himself out a few seasons back. He should take a vets minimum and join the lakers or another team that can get him a ring, no shame in that.

He can turn it around still play at a top label for 2-3 seasons.

Lakers called him during the summer and he didn't reply back. Carmelo needs to retire. He really is done. Really only 1 championship team this year and that's the Warriors. They don't need him. Lakers have enough scorers. Wizards, Heat or Pelicans could use him but in a bench role but none are contenders. Sixers don't want him.

  • After leaving the best situation in which he had a bench role, why would he take one for a lesser situation. I think its starter or nothing for him now.

He is either a starter on a bad team or a bench player on a good team. He made his choice.
  • Anybody watching the NBA? Trade deadline is tomorrow. Really curious to see what happens with Anthony Davis, but i got a feeling he won't be traded until July.

Lakers offering pretty much their entire team for AD.

You have Kyrie who might not resign with Boston now and is being weird with the media again.

John Wall tore his achilles out for a year.

Oladipo wrecked his knee, out for the season.

Harris to the 76ers giving them some decent shooting now.

Lebron and the lakers maybe not making the playoffs.

Boogie Cousins back and actually playing really well. Fucking GSW......
  • I offered a bet to a few co-workers, I'd take Golden State and give them the field and I found no takers. The league is too top-heavy and the regular season is practically pointless. Unless you're one of at most four teams, you may as well tank and try to get Zion or hope that Curry breaks another ankle.

I mean they did almost lose last year to the Rockets. But now with Boogie Cousins, an already stellar team is even better. Hopefully next year some moves get made to level the playing field. Where AD goes is huge.

I had faith in the Celtics, but it has been a wacky season so far and i can't see them winning 4 games against GS. At this point i am not even sure who is coming out of the east. Raptors, Bucks, Celtics, or 76ers could easily take it.

I don't know, man. That series last year wasn't nearly as close one would think. The Warriors outscored the Rockets by 63 and Harden was a bum in game 7 shooting 12-29 and 2-13. I had higher Hope's for the Celtics too, but now I'm thinking Irving isn't as advertised. Any East team is going to get mauled by the Warriors, unfortunately, AD or not.
  • I'd love to follow the NBA...but we'd have to get the Kentucky Colonels back for me to do so.

I propose we convert the NBDL to the ABA.

  • I don't think it'd count as a major league like the old ABA did.  The idea is for Kentucky to get a major league ballclub, not a minor league one (we already have those in baseball (LEX and LOU) and I'm sure basketball as well)
