How far are you?
How far are you from considering your collection as "complete"
Today I added some stuff and did a count, and I'm 32 games away from 500. I figure I have about 250 more carts after 500, and still like 700 manuals & boxes.
Dunno, made me realize I'm not TOO far off from having my idea of a complete cart collection.

I'm sure I'll never go after everything single title, or even 500!

What does this mean for you. CIB, loose?? You're in BC too so it would be cool to know how big your collection is. Then I can break in to your house and steal them. JK.
edit: licenced and unlicenced, north american releases with a few exceptions for stuff I like (Mother, the Smurfs, Ghostbusters 2 etc)... basically just stuff that catches my eye. I collect pretty laid-back-ily
1. Do I post a wanted thread to finish out the cart set? Again, I'm 150 carts away, and about the only big ones I'm missing yet are Myriad and the three Panesians (I already have SE, Flintstones 2, and Caltron, among the rarest of the rare).
2. Do I save up some money and start posting bounties for the really rare stuff, just so I can get the ridiculously rare stuff out of the way? For example...do I save up the money and then post "Paying $7K for SE CIB" or some crap like that? It'd be a bit slow and painful, especially considering that it'd take me nearly a year to save up that kind of money...
3. Do I post a wanted thread for common CIBs, to hopefully fill in the extreme gap between the number of carts I have vs. the number of boxes and manuals? It could take a while, but mainly due to the volume...I'd literally be buying lots of 30+ CIBs at a crack to make this work...
4. Do I post a wanted thread for scarcer CIBs, in hopes of knocking them out before they become prohibitively expensive (which they may or may not do...)? I have a few already, and a few more en route from Canada (thanks to aaronshea80
5. Do I take leave from the NTSC set and focus on the import side of my collecting? I don't have too many foreign releases...counting pirates, I think I have maybe 40 total and roughly 60-80% are boxed.
6. Perhaps you have a better idea of what I should do...? I'm really at a loss here for what to do next...
I'm about 150 carts away from the NTSC set, and roughly 540 boxes and 450 manuals from completing them. I've been thinking of where to go next from here:

well if it were me I would start setting aside a SE/myriad war chest. The rest don't really matter even if they go up its the difference between $200 and $300 not $5k and $10k. You don't want to get completely bored either though so maybe set aside 50-75% of your budget for the war chest and use the 25-50% monthly to add a few titles here and then to keep you interested.
Basically when a CIB se or myriad becomes available you have to pounce, there's no waiting for next time. So you need to have some money set aside for that day, IMO

As long as Nintendo keeps making games, I'll be very, very far away.
Keeps me busy, though.
That leaves me with 147 carts to go. Not too shabby.
I dont plan to ever pick up SE, the panesians, Myriad, or Cheetahmen 2. Although, I will probably pick up a couple more repros here and there. I still have a lot of big name games to go (Little Samson, Flintstones 2, etc), but I think I will get there eventually. I'm not really in any rush at the moment.
I'm far from my all-time goal. Very far. My ultimate goal is to have every North American released Nintendo game, ever, CIB. Like for every system.

Recently I've been thinking that's what I want too.
I think within the last 6 months I topped 200 different carts (about half of that having at least a box or manual, maybe 1/4 CIB). I pretty much just stick to what I can find wherever I can find it, or what I can trade for, I've never bought games on ebay, and don't really intend to in the forseeable future. I like to set small goals at a time and work from there. For now, I'm working on CIBing several sets of games, especially the Castlevania set (down to needing just the box for part 1), Double Dragon set (which is actually done pending the arrival of one more box), and shot in the dark, boxes for Ninja Gaiden II and III (and the manual for III).
That should keep me busy for a while at least.
Took about 2 years to find Mystaria (only 2 popped up!), always amazing how crappy titles are harder to find.
selling everything that is not complete or not beloning in my collection (dreamcast/sms etc)
