    I honestly don't know much about LRG, but am I correct in my impression that they are official games released in small quantities, which will make it very hard for people to collect full sets for systems that have a lot of LRG releases (apparently ps4 and vita)?

    Basically, that's the idea. I don't think the games are necessarily all that hard to find these days, especially for PS4, but LRG has released over 200 games. So, it is very expensive for completionists. Some of their games are truly fabulous, and some are "pass". I certainly would not recommend anyone to collect LRG if you hope to make money off them, I don't think it's very viable, although that never seems to stop scalpers, especially for popular titles. 



    Also, since they started releasing Switch games, every title appears to have had a fairly expensive limited "collector's edition" as well as a fairly inexpensive non-limited standard edition which are available for a few weeks as pre-orders. I totally approve of this new model!

    This game has been rated USK 6+ by the German Entertainment Software Self-Regulation Body (USK). There is no age rating printed or stickered on the box. The age rating is only shown on the disk. German customers must be at least 18 years old to order and receive the shipment. This does not apply to international customers.

    They DO have Switch games, fyi. Fox 'n Forests is available now.

    Looks like John Romero’s new Doom WAD is getting an LRG release, an unofficial follow up to episode 4 of Ultimate Doom. Wow, hot streak for LRG if I’ve ever seen one. Super excited to play that (it’s free otherwise). LOOK AT THAT ART.

    That's one way of looking at it.  Another way of looking at it is that they bring digital only games to the physical world that would otherwise never have a chance to become physical.

    Man the Sigil box is real... not packed considering it's a collector's edition of free software. Basically a soundtrack, a flash drive, and two stickers. I gotta see if it's worth my hard earned cash to put a super cool looking empty box on my shelf for a free mod. And $166 for the good version, mannn. John Romero you're pushing my limits here

    I don't know how LRG preorders like this normally go, but per Ebay rules you can't list preorders for items that are months from release. I would be skeptical of anything "sold" right now.

    I kind of feel that LRG is big enough to have its own thread, and maybe have everyone else in their own thread. But I don't care if they get all lumped together here.

    I just got my copy of Salt and Sanctuary and the case feels like it was stepped on. The label doesn't look damaged, and I am planning on opening it to play when I get a PS4. Is this worth going through the hassle of getting a new copy from LRG or should I just open it to check the disc and change the case when I find a cheap one?

    Oh yeah, I don't mind the different companies being grouped together in one thread. It makes them all easier to quickly review. Also, most of the other companies are small.

    My advice is to have someone else start another thread on the other lesser known “limited run” companies.

    ^ I agree. Some info from SLG or other companies would be nice, but we wouldn't want to overload you, plus it's best to keep the info separate so it's a bit more organized IMO.

    I voted separated as well. This thread is great for keeping up to date on the switch preorders. It might get a bit cluttered when it brings in another 3 or 4 companies.

    I still say that's a pretty strange way of looking at it.  No disrespect to anyone who is a full set collector, but it would be foolish to go for a full set of anything without the mindset that it will cost a lot of money.  There is nothing wrong with being a fullset collector, but I will refuse to listen to anyone who would complain about such a thing.  I've said it from the beginning, but I hope that LRG, turns as many digital only titles into physical as possible.  If that makes aquiring a full set very difficult, so be it.  It wasn't going to happen for 99.99% of collectors anyway.
