Leisure Suit Larry License Plate auction

Comments

  • Pretty cool, but not $400 cool!
  • OMG how are those going for so much! Lol the description is entertaining.
  • First the source code to leisure suit, and now his license plates lol What's next?
  • Yes this was great.............

When Leisure Suit Larry sales were strong and my royalties exceeded my greatest dreams, I convinced my wife that if we bought a new Lexus LS-400 I would "drive it till it drops!" She consented and we got a wonderful car that deserved custom plates. These are those. But my line to her ended up being a lie: that car outlasted me! It was still in great condition fifteen years later when my son needed a car and I "needed" newer technology. I replaced it with another LS. At least, it was a different color.
  • The final item will be the multiple used socks and finally rubber involved in the conception of the Larry games, gently used.
  • Love this. I grew up playing LSL games. Thanks Dad!
  • awesome. This guy is cashing out. I wonder what other goodies he has...
  • I'm not sure if he sold the LSL source. It was for auction, they got up well past $10k and then they were cancelled. I mean, technically it belongs to Sierra so maybe they sent a C&D but who knows.

Personally, my favorite non-FPS PC game as a kid was Torin's Passage. I doubt I could afford it but I'd want to bid on the source for that. But, who knows? It's not an iconic Al Lowe game, so maybe I'll get lucky, he'll post it and it will be a time when I have the banked cash for it.
  • The description says that the second-highest bidder will also get a plate, but the first-highest gets first pick. I'm curious, does ebay have built-in functionality to offer sales to people who bid on your auction and didn't win? Or will he have to cheese the system a little?
