Elgato HD60

Found one for cheap on the market place, it did not come with the hdmi cables or cables needed to convert retro systems. So, I got them on order, pretty stoked to start capturing some retro gaming and might try my hand in game reviews on an already saturated youtube market, haha. Anyone else use this to capture their games?

  • I use my original Elgato still. Works the charm when I need it to.
  • I have two Elgato Game Capture HDs. One from a flea market and one from a pawn shop. Passed on one from OfferUp for $15 (it was far away and didn't have the retro cables).

I believe the "HD60" is digital HDMI only (no analog retro capture)
  • I ordered an RCA to HDMI converter, hoping it works out.
  • not to hijack the thread, but does anybody know if those USB capture devices that have composite and SVideo inputs are any good?

They do a decent job. I personally opted for the Xrgb mini and HD60 route. Crystal clear captures. And the HD60 does 1080 60fps.

The game capture HD (composite) only does max 720 60fps, 1080 30fps. Not horrible by any means. But something to consider

  • My friend has an older version of the elgato that had rca and svideo on it, and it works great. I got this one at a good price but it is hdmi only so I had to buy a rca to hdmi converter on amazon(15$), not sure how long it will last though. Either way, I did a test recording last night and it seemed really good to me.
