How many Atelier games are there? Infinite, apparently.
As long as there are weeaboos, there will be Atelier games. I'm pretty sure the only recent platform that doesn't have at least one Atelier game is the Xbox, but that would have changed had those ever taken off in Japan.
Got my Waterfield Cityslicker Switch case in today! Thing is nice! Good quality! The microfiber lining is a nice touch! I had been wanting a black leather Switch case since it came out and never really saw anything i liked except this one. Is a little spendy which is why i hadn't picked it up yet but decided to use some tax money to order one finally! Grabbed the extra 20 game leather wallet and wrist loop. Anybody else have one of these? They have a matching 3DS case i think I'm going to get next since i still need a case for one of mine.
Of these I have only played Kronos before, on PS4. Was not a fan.
God I'm negative.
Are you a fan of strategy games in general? If yes, I'm curious what you didn't like about it, as I'm sort of interesting in this one.
1) I experienced really bad lag, which is incredibly odd considering the graphics aren't exactly top of the line.
2) The game was incredibly difficult on the default setting, right out of the gate. This could be simply that I am useless with strategy games, but I found that the game seemed to have relatively obvious intentions (e.g. rock paper scissors units) but despite taking advantage of this I was DEMOLISHED in (if I recall) the first level.
3) Very dull gameplay. Not quite the same (real-time vs turn-based) but you know how in, say, Command & Conquer when you select a unit they say a line? Like a little "Trooper ready!"? NOTHING here. There was no music to speak of. Animations are garbage. The sound it makes when you attack is weak. Look at this:
Exciting, eh? Note the delay on the second image between blasting the vehicle and it blowing up. That's not even lag, that's how it's designed. The game is very rough and unpolished. Or at least it was when I played it when it launched initially.
All that said, I was basically immediately turned off of it. Reading comments online it SOUNDS like people who get into it do like it a lot. Could be a bit of contrarianism but it seems the strategy elements may be deep, it's just not presented very well. If you're a strategy buff you may enjoy it more than I did.
I wouldn't call myself a huge strategy guy. My experience with the genre are primarily FF Tactics and Jeanne D'Arc. I honestly don't play a lot of them.
Interesting, without derailing too much, can anyone recommend some good modern (any system) RTS strategy games similar to Command & Conquer style? Kronos looks appealing to me but reading some reviews does make it seem pretty bland.

On PC, I really liked the Endless series. Endless Legends if you like Fantasy and Endless Space for Sci-Fi. They're more like Civilization, but do have micro-encounters when you encounter enemies. Might be worth looking into if that's your bag, baby.
Thanks for the thoughtful response, Gloves. I may still check this out depending on price because I'm generally a sucker for strategy games. This looks like it has some indie-fied Halo Wars vibes to it or something.

I'm not sure I've played any strategy games since Total Annihilation, Starcraft, Heroes of Might and Magic III, Warcraft III, Red Alert 2, etc.
I've been meaning to check out Supreme Commander for forever (spiritual sequel to TA)
I played that a while back, it was pretty cool! I loved that you could zoom out and watch the battles going on in real-time from the different views available, it was a really cool feature I wasn't used to and it added a lot to my experience.
Apparently, the ad actually had the Xenoblade Chronicles 2 box art and not Torna (as you also shared ^), so it was a misprint/messup by some employee(s) responsible for the ad. A few people did have luck though getting the main Xenoblade 2 game for $19.99 after talking to the manager/employees from some posts on Facebook.
My pickups from the last 2-3 weeks. Just pretty shocked right now looking at all of this realizing how much I got in little time. Currently have no space for all of this and have to reorganize my game room once again. Also, today was the first time I played with the pro controller. Man, have I been missing out!! Got some more stuff in transit from Super Rare Games, Play Asia, and LRG.
I love Nintendo Switch so much I bought 2 of these just because they are cool and going to likely be worth stupid money soon. Better jump on it fellow switch collectors. - #misprint #recall
I now truly wish all the SWITCH Spines were colored Black.

The Pro controller is seriously the biggest improvement you can buy for the Switch.

Sweet pick ups Skorp! So much stuff! I was about to do the same in the whats new thread!
