Gloves for handling items?
What do you think about it instead of worrying about the hands having some bodily residue or moist from washing just putting ok some gloves instead? I was thinking those hospital type of tight transparent ones might be the best but others have talked about white cotton ones.

Ok this is goin a bit too far, lol
Honesty I was thinking the same thing at first but certain items should be handled that way.

Was thinking the same. We’re not talking about the Mona Lisa.
A vote for me is a vote for clean games and tasty cardboard.

I'll think about it
I think if you wash your hands before handling stuff you should be alright.
But the soap has this perfume scent to it and also gives this smooth texture to the underside of the hands i'm really not sure it doesn't impact cardboard surfaces on contact.

I'm unscented, and hardly ever smooth at all. I can handle this job, with your support!
Good thing I have none, so please continue.

What items are we talking about? Rare CIB games? How often are you handling them?
I would gladly open a CIB Stadium Events, place a NWC Gold in an NES, and take out a sticker sealed Super Mario Bros. from an acrylic case. Carefully of course, but no need for gloves.

I'm convinced i'll give you the vote!
People at game stores dont even wear gloves for $3000+ items. Just don't be gross when touching stuff and you should be fine.
I wouldn't considered people at gamestores as some epitome standard of preservation exactly. Not that they're incredibly sloppy either but what i'm talking about is whole 'nother issue.

CIB's, inserts, regular A4 papers sometimes. I'm not handling them too often but maybe something once a month when i get it, maybe a little more?
Most of the things in our hobby have been haphazardly stored in garages, basements, attics, closets, sheds, storage units, and crawl spaces for the better part of their lives. Virtually nothing in the hobby is so precious and unique that it would require ark of the covenant level sensitivity in regards to human touch with the exception of perhaps undumped 1-of-a-kind prototypes.

No i don't think so in think most have been put on a shelf by someone or a few different times from changing hands. But shit like having petted the dog during or before fiddling with the game, touched something else in our outside the home, someone in the vicinity was smoking etc. is probably more common.
What about gloves for handling your handling gloves?
I handle myself regularly, don't even worry about it!
