My new project: Game Open, Man!
Hey NA community,
I just started a new project designed to catalog the complete contents of as many video games as possible. My plan is to record videos and take hi-res images of every factory-sealed game I can open and make them available online for free.
As a collector of "complete" games I always find it difficult to figure out what inserts and other stuff should be included. I know some of that info is out there but it's scattered around in various forums and really hard to find. I've always thought it would be a huge help to have a centralized place that includes pictures of each item so I know what to look for. There are also other benefits such as detecting counterfeits and probably things I haven't even thought of.
So the catch is that this is obviously a super expensive project.
I have about 50 sealed games ranging from PS1 up to modern stuff (see a preview here) that I'm planning to open which will hopefully prove that I'm serious about it. I've already opened 3 of them. Of course, it's going to take way more money than I'll ever have to complete. That's why I've set up a Patreon account where people can contribute to the project. I don't intend to use the money or games I buy to grow my personal collection. In fact, I've set the first couple funding goals to a level where I can buy the game, trade it in and just exactly cover the cost of the game (although I'll have to eat the tax but that's ok).
I'm obviously looking for support at https://www.patreon.com/gameopenman but I'm also looking for suggestions on how to make the videos, images and process in general even better. I have no idea if this is something that other collectors really want or if this project will even work, but please check it out and let me know what you think. I'd appreciate any feedback!
Thanks,
Andred

I wish you luck, if your intentions are genuine, but no way I'd ever donate money to some dude to buy himself games!
