I do not collect Genesis sealed games so I am nothing close to an expert. Still, I try to pay attention to stuff as it comes around and I do keep an eye out from time to time for sealed Game Gear stuff, and in my casual observation, SEGA seemed to use the same plastic.
This looks legit to me due to the quality. That said, the best way to tell, in my opinion when the shrinkwrap is crap is to look at the condition of the game behind the plastic. Do you see scrapes? Are any edges of the insert worn or frayed at all? Is the plastic damaged? These are good tips that it's not legit.
Again, I'm not an expert but I do try to pay attention so that i can be knowledgable of this stuff when I'm out shopping. Hopefully this will bump your post and someone else can step in and comment.
