My Current Turbo Grafx-16/PC-Engine Collection

Comments

  • That's a lot of turbo tapes
  • Decent Collection!
  • Thanks everyone I've been shifting gears away from NES/SNES and downsizing that part of my collection and trying to now increase the TG-16 sides of things.
  • Noice I do likes me some PCE
  • Quality games!
  • Nice collection!

I've had a great time collecting and playing games for the PC Engine (JP turbografx). Definitely in my top 2 systems with the NES.
  • Very nice selection, it's a bitch to get em in good shape too lol.

I have had a 80% complete set for a while and have been thinking of getting rid of it, real nice to look at though so idk lol.

  • That's a sweet collection love the boxed console.
  • Very nice I love the turbo and I have been slowly picking up more and more games for the turbo. I almost have all the regular cd games and quite a bit of the Super cd games.
  • I'm seeing some of the fewer really decent games the TG was given around so many poor choices of what not to bring over.

Your PCE games have some nice shiny gems in there like that Burning Angels one and also the Ninja Gaiden conversion too, also SCI is a pretty slick title. I'm kind of shocked to see a larger lack of Sega games and strangely no Capcom or in particular Konami releases. Also very affordable and should be on anyones list I would recommend both Aoi Blink and definitely Dragon Egg.

I'm not a collector, but I have collected by nature of buying to play about 30 games for mine, then I went and got a pc everdrive to try more things out and deal with translations. It's such a great system I think more people just don't realize because of the mediocrity of the card market we got screwed with in the US on the TG16. Everyone jumps to CDs because they just were better and not region locked for us, but if you look at the Japanese HuCard library it's fantastic. You want to know more best to look at Video Game Den or the PC ENgine Bible sites to see what I mean.

I don't have a pretty set of pictures or a general list written up, but most of my games are complete, just about a quarter of mine are just the cards.
  • Some local game store in NH got a large TG-16 trade in. I wish I knew who the person was because I would have offered in cash what they gave in store credit. It would have boosted my collection tremendously.

The perks of having a brick and mortar business hey, did you get this all from the same store? Would be pretty cool if this all came from one person's possession. They would have had to mail order a kisado converter, along with all their PCE games mailed in from Japan. I find most og TG16 owners who were into imports usually went all out and used TZD to get the later released CD games with a Duo or Cd unit + system3.0 card. Can only recall one og who was exclusively into PCE hucards imports without CD's
  • I've gotten a good majority from the flea market last year in the cheap. A guy was unloading his collection $20 for used games and $40 for sealed no matter the title. Very little have come from retro stores and most from amazon and eBay. Finding anything turbo out in the Wild was very very rare up in MA/NH.

Agreed the only thing I ever find at stores is common stuff like Legendary Axe or Keith Courage.  Most of my recent Turbo games have been from trades because of people dumping their collection because of the Super SD System 3.  Funny thing is that I have a SSDS3 and I love it but I still enjoy collecting the real games on the turbo.

  • That's more than I've seen around here. In the last five years I think I've seen maybe 3 games like 2 copies of Splatterhouse and one of I think like Keith Courage. Nothing actually interesting really if you imagine what did come out on the US TG system and I've never seen anything PCE in this area ever. Since that's what I have my finds are good trades or poorly done ebay listings (poorly researched low starting bins, badly worded, somehow ignored, or cheap because it's a lot deal.) It's not quite as fun, but since they come fairly spread apart, it has some value as it is a hunt, just not one wasting wear and tear on a car to do it.
