I use it like window shopping. So it's full. If I need it now I look for lowest price no shipping. If it's a good deal and looks like no one is looking at it but me, I put in a second high bid and wait till it reminds me. Usually some ding bat gets me on 50 cents. I'll admit... sometimes if someone pisses me off I'll find their bid and max them out. Then find a cheaper one "buy it now" And it feels good... inside.
I just meant creep up their max bid. And try not to beat it. It’s not something I do habitually, but I have done it in the past. I just thought it was funny enough to share.
Honestly I don’t usually bid on things I don’t think I’ll win...

Oh I've definitely placed spite-bids before.
Always fun...until you end up the high bidder and overpay lol.

Exxxaaaactly. You have to giggle while doing it not (firl your brow ). Is that how you say that? I’ve never typed it before. I used to read... I need to read more again...
I'd go for a program like prospector, but every once I a while, some seller will bomb one of my key words for like 30 auctions. It's annoying when that fills one email. It would be unbearable to get an email per listing.
100 saved searches and check them multiple times a day? Where do you people find time for this "hobby"? lol
Get on board with the smartphone revolution!
Search for something on eBay. No results (or none you like)? Check completed items. See one that sold for a price you are willing to pay? Uncheck completed items and tap the heart at the top of the search results. Enable the toggle for “Alerts on phone” and hit “Save.”
When someone lists another you’ll get a notification that links you straight to the new listings. If you only want to be notified for Buy It Now listing’s under s certain price you can set that before you save the search and enable mobile notifications.
I ignore most of the notifications because they were just saved out of curiosity but when I get a notification for something I’m genuinely trying hard to get I jump on it right away.
If you set them up outside the app you probably didn’t get the option to enable notifications (just email) and you’ll get them in the middle of the night sometime... probably after the good stuff is gone.

I only have 3 searches going.
You don't. It will have multiple listings in one email if it finds multiple on that search set.
I have maybe ~30-50 saved searches at any given time and I alternate from time to time which ones I have emailed to me. I never manually check them. I always just rely on the daily emails, and if something gets bought up before then by someone else, fine.
For really important things I use www.itemalarm.com which emails you automatically every 15 minutes when a new result appears.

How do you find out someone else's bid?
