Aaron Kosminsky has long been thought as one of the more credible suspects in the case because he was identified by a passer by as the attacker of Liz Stride shortly before her body was discovered. I am not surprised that his mtDNA was on Catherine Edowes' shawl who was killed very shortly after Liz Stride on the same day. It is crazy that just now, over 130 years later, we have some sort of scientific evidence pointing towards a suspect as the definitive killer. It does make a lot of sense.
Very good point. The media often overblows things for a headline. In reality, this is an interesting study but should definitely be taken with a few grains of salt.

The evidence is being scrutinized and should not be counted on. But at least it was some type of attempt of using science to identify the killer.
