Ordered a UperGrafx/UpperGrafx UGX-02! Ready to deep-dive the Super CD-ROM²
I'm super-excited to finally be getting digital video and ODE functions for my TurboGrafx-16. The creator is in staying in the USA for the next few months and brought a few UGX-02 units to sell so I finally broke down and bought one. Shipping domestically was barely any cheaper, but I'll take any excuse I can get!
I've had a Turbo Everdrive for years so I'm looking for suggestion specifically on what CD-ROM²/Super CD-ROM² titles to fill up my SD card with first. I've started preparing CD images for the games I want on the SD card but I'd like suggestions on what else to add. Anything English/USA is a shoe-in. I'm not equipped to play Arcade CD-ROM² titles and I'm automatically excluding Quiz, Majong and Pachinko titles. I'm not aware of any fan translations other than Castlevania Dracula X but I'll gladly add any suggested to me (really wish Far East of Eden series was translated).

I'm not sure what type of games you like but one of the gems on the Japanese side is Nexzr. It's a difficult shooter but has amazing music. I didn't see Spriggan on your list that is a good one from compile from the people who made Muscha.
The fan translations off the top of my head are Ys IV, Dracula X, Xak III, and Starling Odyssey 2. The Xanadu are being worked on so those two will be nice in the future.

Thank you! I updated the list. I'm thinking about getting an Arcade Card Duo so I can add those titles to the list but I haven't looked into my options for running it on a TG16 with UGX-02. It replicates an internal Super System Card so it lets you get away with an Arcade Card Duo card on a Japanese original, Core, or Core II system but I'm sure I'll need an import mod for this.
You might know so I'll ask here: where is the best place to buy an Arcade Card Duo? I see that GameDoctorHK has one about $10 less than the cheapest eBay BIN currently and I was already going to place an order with them, but I see that some recently closed for under $40 and I'm tempted to wait for a similar deal.

Yeah I wouldn't rush to get the arcade card. My favorite arcade games is Sapphire and Mad Stalker. Just wait for a deal on it. I have bought plenty of stuff from GameDoctorHK. He is a good source for lasers.

Well, half the reason I want one sooner rather than later is to clear up some misunderstandings about the UGX-02 by demonstrating it with one so I think I'm going to go ahead and prep a card with the Arcade Card titles even though I don't have one yet.
Thanks for your suggestions. I've collected together almost everything now. It's been a lot easier than I thought with most of the frustration just being downloading/organizing/patching/extracting the titles... IOW, the stuff I'd have to do even if the UGX-02 didn't have any extra hoops to go through. Biggest hassle by far was getting a bunch of CHD files extracted, and that would have been a problem for the SSDSYS3 too. Getting non-CHD image formats into the right format for UGX-02 when I can't just edit a cue file is just a matter of mounting them in a virtual drive and following their instructions for ripping original discs.
Just found a curated Archive.org list of 178 English, translated, or playable without knowing Japanese titles but now I'm running out of HDD space! Wish I found this before the North American set of CHDs:
