UPDATE: Sorry to double post, but so I was at the post office and talked to them for near 30 minutes. So, the good news is it actually wasn't stolen. It was lost due to the conveyor belt cutting it. He did explain that the side that was open how clean of a cut it was. So, whoever posted about the conveyor belt, you were right! He said he will get me a letter for him, so that's good. He couldn't explain why I got it though. He said they would attached a notice to the envelope/packing stating some issue with it. I guess that also fell of or something lol.
Is there any way to recover that item from the facility or has it been tossed in the bin and lost forever.
ya i guess no insurance in this case even though its the postal services fault, that I will never understand... I don't feel the least bit bad for the seller though... I just paid f'ng 27 canadian dollars to ship a game to the US.... but i put it in a box, secured in bubble wrap... and paid for the proper amount of insurance. You want to cheap out on that... well your gonna get burned sometimes and for SURE deserve it... as a side rant people who ship straight bubble envelope are almost as stupid as this guy.
I've never understood why USPS takes no responsibility for uninsured packages. I wouldn't expect them to make the sender whole as insurance is available and the risks are known, but at the very least they should refund the cost of the service that was paid for and not provided.
I have sent several low value, uninsured, first class small packages that never made it to their destination. They are trackable and clearly show they are lost in the system somewhere, but USPS won't do a thing about it except raise a lost item case and tell you to keep checking the automated website. I'm sure they must be legally obliged to refund the cost of shipping if they failed to provide the service, but who's really going to bother chasing them for a few bucks?

That's something I never understood, as a company in the logistics business you would think they would provide some guarantee that your items would be transported properly. It got destroyed by the conveyor belt? Well then you have a poor designed piece of equipment and you need to compensate ( for at least the service provided ) the customer. If you go to you local mechanic and he fixes your brakes, takes it for a test drive and hits the wall getting out of the shop gouging both doors and a fender, when you go to pick up the car they say there is nothing they can do and its $380 dollars to pick it up still. That doesn't clear them of liability, I wonder how the transportation/logistics industry gets away with that lol.

Yeah, that should have been delivered to you in one of the "WE CARE" bags:
@Skorp, I got one of these in a lot. Good condition. I just made a FO post. I'm not just fishing for a sale. I honestly know how frustrating it can be to be searching and searching for something and then you happen to miss out on one. So, if you're still in the market for this, PM me.
i’ve actually received a few offers and I’m still shopping around. Considering Skorps circumstances, I kind of want to be sure he gets a chance to at least respond.

Richard, do you happen to work at the post office?

Hahaha, no. But when I just saw the photos from Skorp above, I’m starting to wonder. I’m in the middle of something so I’m not going to skim every post. Did skorp state where this was shipped? I’ll check to see if it shipped from the same zip. Very well might be his!
EDIT
Ok, this is definitely not Skorps. I just compared. My back sticker has a bit more grime-wear than his. Front seems to be in comparable condition though.

No and Skorp has the pictures of adresses blacked out. but honestly looking at those pictures side by side, I dont think theres any doubt its the same one. Almost looks like someone tried to clean it with some kind of cleaner and smeared a few of the letters on it as the only difference. Rear sticker placement is identical. Grime marks could be because it really did accidentally come out of the envelope and was on the belt until someone picked it up. Id ask him about location. That way you could track it and see if youd be in the delivery path of it. I was kidding about you working in the post office though lol.
EDIT: Look at the marks on his and yours. Exact same on the "D" and between "OT" in NOT. Again directly under "O" in Nintendo. Top right corner has a dark dot in both pics. Again without a doubt same one. (some real detective work going on here) lol

Actually, considering the wear on my, at first glance I thought it was different, but now looking at some of the smudge locations and imprefections in the printing... good grief, I THINK THIS IS SKORPS?!
The odd thing is, Skorps badge says he's from Texas and this shipped from Kennesaw, GA. I'm going to reach out to the seller and see where they got it from. Anyway, I have to get to work. For those not wanting to hunt around, here's the photo of the back of my game. Feel free to compare for yourself.
Well, well, well. I contacted the seller and asked where it came from. Here’s his response.
I'm pretty confident this is the same NFR. Crazy how that works.
Still no word from Skorp. I'll mention this over in my FO post, but I'm going to give him the week to respond. I know he got a refund but all things considered, I just feel like first dibs now really does belong to him.

Holy poop slinger! That is CRAZY how this all happened. You cant make this up. If Skorp does not want this I want it for the story! lol
Pretty blown away right now. That is amazing as it is definitely the same cart. Well I guess I should clear up on what has happened since the last post. I actually never got a refund from eBay as for some reason they declined saying it is not apart of the money back guarantee and the seller has stopped responding. I am working with eBay though behind the scenes and filed a police report as they asked and also did a missing mail search on USPS. They told me that any mail lost is sent to one specific center in the USPS circle, which. I have a feeling that was there. So, still solving that issue. With this game found though, I really have no idea what to do now. Gonna ask them what to do now. You guys suggest I do a dispute on Paypal?
That is just unbelievable still how this all turned out. Gonna message you now rlh. WHAT A STORY!! I'm just so glad it is found!!! Thanks rlh for your super luck.

I work for the USPS, and I do know the the USPS Mail Recovery Center warehouse is located in Atlanta, GA, 30 minutes from Kennesaw, GA. The USPS also sells unclaimed or non-returnable items on GovDeals.com. I believe very strongly that this is most likely where this item ended up, and came from.
My Dad worked for USPS distribution facility the last 15 years until retirement last year and he said about 30 items per day get jammed/damaged in the conveyor belts. It's usually letters. You have to take into account the insane amount of product moving through the machines and the pace they go through....and the grueling amount of manpower it takes to get anything to go where it goes. Usually there should be a note from the Post Master General when this happens though, I got a letter the one time I have had a letter shredded (and it still included the shredded check) but maybe Canada Post doesn't bother with the letter to explain?
US mail sucks, it's expensive and leaves a lot to be desired.
Here's the thing I don't get: so your parcel gets jacked, they aren't held accountable, and then they get to auction off the goods for a second round of profits?

I wish I knew about this website. I had a purchase go missing some time back. I did end up getting the refund, but the package was officially just "lost" after 6 months.
I just want to jump in and say that I hope Skorp can re-open a claim. If I'm understanding the situation correctly, he'd taken a picture of the envelope and sent it to eBay. I guess their logic was, you received something so how could they know for sure that he wasn't lying, and cut out the game. I hate to say it, but it makes sense when you think about how this could be easy to cheat by, well, the many cheaters out there.
Anyway, since I now have documentation (within eBay, no less) of someone telling me that he likely bought it from a "Lost Mail" bulk purchase, and the photo evidence posted above proves that my cart is the one he lost, I am more than willing to co-operate to provide evidence that this was certainly lost in the mail and he deserves a refund. I'd appreciate some advice for the both of us so we can properly handle communicating with eBay or Paypal to get the refund.
That said, pending he can get that refund, we worked out a deal for this game and I think we're both very happy with the results.
