Gyromite without a famicom adapter

Hey everyone. I've been trying to find out if Gyromite (NTSC release) exists with a real 72-pin board inside (i.e. without a famicom adapter inside). Anybody know for sure?

  • It does.

Stack-Up is the only one that doesn't have a non-adapter variant.
  • Thanks! Totally forgot about bootgod.

Are these boards rare? I've been trying to get my hands on one but every single cart I've come across seems to have an adapter inside...
  • Most people I've seen here report the opposite. I think it just depends on luck. I'm sure if you offered, someone would trade you one for one of yours.
  • I've been collecting for 8 years and have over 600 NES cartridges, I've never seen a Famicom adapter.

I've seen more without the famicom adapter.
  • I'll check my local reseller first. They usually have a bunch of Gyromites. I'll bring my own scale to weigh one out from their pile. If that fails I'll put up a request for trade here on NA. Thanks.
  • You can also tell by the pin connector. Adapter Gyromites will have an offset pin. Ones with no adapter have centered pins.

I've also heard that the R.O.B. logo will have a slightly different shade of purple between the two, but I haven't verified that one.

  • These?

I bring a scale to the flea market as well. Can't wait to find my own NES cart filled with synthetic drugs!
  • They're much more abundant without a Famicom converter.
  • I'll echo what Count said; I've had tons (20 from one lot) of copies of Gyromite over the year. I've had two fami adaptors
  • lol ya its super common without the adapter
  • Guess I was just "lucky" since all four Gyromites that I currently have (mostly through bulk purchases over the years) have been with the adapter inside. Now I know what's what. Thanks everyone!!
