For some reason he only fingertip drilled it and it feels weird. While I only use my fingertips, I still like the full depth drill.
I would be livid if a pro shop drilled my ball that way. If the person in the pro shop isn't asking you what your preference is, I'd find a new pro shop (if possible), tbh. There's quite a few alleys around here, so there's options to go when a shop gets a bad rep.

Thanks for the tips! I hit my new high of 176 tonight, so the practice is paying off. I'm not quite ready to get a ball, but I imagine I'll be thinking about it over summer break.
Yes you are. But also be prepared for your average to drop if you're switching to a hook ball until you get familiar with how it reacts to different patterns, and your comfortability with it, as it is different than just bowling a straight ball.
Well, that one may be more on me than the pro shop. Now that I recall more of the conversation, I did mention that I use a fingertip grip and wanted speed grip inserts since I was used to them in my strike ball.
They could probably still be drilled to full depth if I really wanted.
The Pro Shop guy I really liked quit, but one of the other bowlers golfs with him and said he still drills out of his house. When fall league starts I may have him drill me up a Pink Widow.
