I have a tough time picking just one. One day its X the next day its Y.
One piece that I enjoy for a number of different reasons is the original art for Dino Peak as I started collecting as a sealed collector and spent years trying to get a sealed NES set. One of the three titles I've never owned sealed is F2, so it was nice to get something even better and be able to mentally cross it off the list.
Sorry for the dark and crappy pic. The board is bright white IRL so I must have taken a pic with very little light in the room.
I was going to post one of my Rare NES original artworks. Seems pointless now. :-(
No way if you are being serious please post. Regardless of the game, I find all original video game box paintings beautiful as does everybody else I know that is into the original art. They are all 1 of 1 regardless of the title. I personally view art different in regards to how popular a game might be. A lot of art to so called lower tier games is beautiful. One can't judge art based on rarity or popularity of a cartridge. Flintstones Peak is obviously awesome but any of it is awesome to see. Dan loves video game paintings and I guarantee one day one of his lower tiers might be his favorite.
In terms of Nintendo-Nintendo stuff, probably a Mario Paint PAL version prototype, or a pre-production Face Training DS camera cartridge (along with a DS cartridge containing a testing program for said camera cart, which among other things includes a DS microphone check function that works by having you say the names of various Pokemon in Japanese). The Mario Paint has EPROM labels with little Samus cartoons on them, and the camera cartridge looks to have a slightly different PCB design from the final production board, along with the pop-out camera's plastic housing being pink instead of the retail version's grey.
I view this as a set so I'm posting both. I actually posted this a couple years ago but it fits this thread. Both the painting and the Nintendo box painting will always be my favorite gaming pieces no matter what other video game paintings or prototypes I acquire. By the way, I need the vidpro if anybody has one to sell. http://vintage.nintendoage.com/fo...
the story behind this is crazy if i remember right. longshot luck, recovered history, and.....murder? am i remembering this right?

Yes, Brandon Murphy sold the prototype I believe around a month before his murder by his roommates. The roommates stole his games and set the apartment on fire. I've always assumed his roommates may have known the offers Brandon had recieved for the California Raisins prototype but didn't realize he had sold it. When they stole the games it obviously wasn't there. Who knows but definately a sad story. I think Brandon would be happy to know the prototype is in good hands. It and the actual box art painting are very aweome pieces of Nintendo history. The prototype also has Brandon's history attached it it. I printed the interview he did after discovering the prototype and have it stored with the cartridge. I won't live forever and want people to always know his story.
Probably my unreleased prototype of Katakis 3D for Game Boy Color or prototype of Alien 3 or Mortal Kombat for Super Nintendo.
My favourite piece is my Zelda Ocarina of Time 3DS Standee. Absolutely love this beauty. Will post pics if needed when I can. Just love it so much. I also love my customized Amiibo kiosk that can play any game through an emulator.
My teal Game Boy Color and Pokemon Blue are my cherished and treasured of them all as they were the first games I actually owned myself apart from my dad's collection. It was Christmas day and I remember being so excited like never before getting that game!
Still my favorite item. Million repost probably, but lost some stuff to photobucket and my old webspace..Looking forward to the documentary (Sith & co!)

Love the Earthbound! Don't the others have a different appearance? I like the generic labels on yours.
I have a hanging Nintendo advertising piece, but I also have a very very good condition sealed Pokemon Red Version, so it would have to be either of those, or maybe both if one goes for favorite and the other for value.

This was the original one that came around in 1998. Love the labels too myself

I forgot to mention in my last post, I do have one of those blockbuster Virtual Boy cases in excellent shape with the foam entirely intact and the laminated one page liner manual in the top part too. I've seen those range in value enough it may topple but definitely compete with my hanging sign and pokemon red sealed.
Right now it's my RGB modded top loader NES. Nothing crazy, but I just really love using that with the framemeister and getting that perfect satisfaction of the original hardware experience with modern clarity sweetness!
My favorite items are the games, manuals, and consoles that kept from my childhood. Not exciting or valuable but they are cherished and I will never sell them.
Most valuable? Probably one of my store displays. Mayne my Zelda 2 sign
I have a sealed Banjo-Tooie but I see it as more of a liability than something of value to cherish. I have to keep it locked away inside so that no one will accidentally open it
I really like my Club Nintendo items as collectibles.

Favorite might be my Wolf Link Amiibo or a decent pile of nintendo plushies we have scattered around the house.
