SNES Rarity LIst

I just started my snes collection. I was just curious what the top ten RAREST SNES games are. I know Starfox Comp cart, and Chrono trigger are up there. A little help would be awesome. Maybe include some prices. Thanks

  • Chrono trigger is not really rare, just expensive.

You might want to see this thread about hard to find snes box:

  • Donkey Kong Comp. Cart

    Starfox Super Weekend

    Mountain Bike Rally/Speed Racer

    Super Copa

    International Super Star Soccer

    International Super Star Soccer Deluxe

All of the above will be very hard to find, good luck on those.

    Castlevania Dracula X

    Harvest Moon

    Aero Fighters

    EVO

    Earthbound

    Chrono Trigger

These ones aren't as hard, and some like Chrono Trigger and Earthbound are just popular, not so much rare.
  • One to ten from top to bottom (rarity level in parentheses), according to my experience:

    1. MBR/SR
    (9)
    2. Super Copa (9)
    3. DKC Competition
    (9)
    4. Starfox Super Weekend
    (9)
    5. ISS
    (9)
    6. ISS Deluxe
    (8)
    7. Aero Fighters
    (8)
    8. Fun 'n Games
    (8)
    9. Chavez II
    (7)
    10. Zero: The Kamikazee Squirrel
    (7)

Many of the Titus games (Incantation, Ardy Lightfoot, Pieces, and I think one or two others), as well as Miracle Piano, Super Turrican II, and a few others fall fairly close in rarity to #10. If I had to pick a #11, Incantation would probably be it.

Edit:  These games, while expensive ($20+ loose, under most normal circumstances), are not quite as rare as their price might otherwise indicate (rarity level in parentheses here, too):

    Breath of Fire II (4)
    Chrono Trigger (2)
    EVO (5)
    Final Fantasy III (3)
    Harvest Moon (5)
Lufia & the Fortress of Doom (3)
    Lufia II (4)
    Mega Man X2 (4)
    Mega Man X3 (5)
    Super Mario RPG (3)

I'd list some potential sleeper rares here, but I don't wish to cause the NA effect to take hold and start making a bunch of what are now $20-$30 CIBs turn into $100-$200 CIBs, here image .

  • If you want the RAREST snes game, buy WHIRLO, it's a pal release and it was released only in Spain I think, it's like the Rodland in SNES system. Really hard to find.

see, pretty commom, if one cib pops up i let you guys know
  • all of the ones in that search are either fake or a brazilian version (no game rating on the label

    hah...
  • I'd love to get a collection of Playtronic games. Unfortunately, I don't know Portuguese! If I did that, I guess I would be a bigger obsessed variant collector than Dangerboy!
  • Brazilian games are just packing inside they are all US games, no translation at all in games besides packages
  • I was more implying that I would likely need to know Portuguese in order to buy the games. I'm well aware that Playtronic games are merely label variants of standard US NTSC games (I have a Playtronic copy of Super Copa, I checked).
  • well, portuguese its not an easy language to learn, i asure you XD
  • I have a box and manual for the brazilian version of ISS 2000 for N64 that I would like to get rid of
