  • I knew this one was out there somewhere. Nice find man
  • Destroy that right away!!!!!

Seriously, I can't believe that find comes right after dangevin + hybrid confirmed the Megaman 5-screw variant. Now, we all have the mission (and desire) to find a non-hangtab box to put that baby where it should rest in peace.

Let's say this is now the new standard for the 10 variant rarity rate of Al Bailey's list.

Congrats on this incredible find Erik.
  • The coolest part is that it came from right here in WA state!
  • Quickly burn this and delete the thread...no one will ever know!!!

  • Wow nice spot Eric, very mint condition too!
  • alright, now with this being found i don't think it would be far fetched to find a three screw gumshoe or clu clu land.

hell that black mission cobra is looking more and more likely everyday
  • Sweet, I've been searching for that for about a year. I must have missed it, these past few weeks I've been sleeping on the search button, I guess!
  • Alright I wanna be around when the first Non-hangtab DK Math box comes up for auction just to see the crazy high end price image And god only knows if it were MINT....

Honestly I don't think MINT would have anything to do with it, just seeing one I would probably shit a brick (same goes for hangtab Mega Man)
  • ^ Yeah, but there's been 5-screw games that never have a hangtab counterpart (like Zelda comes to mind). However, every 3-screw game that has been the "rare variant" has had the non-hangtab box to match...
  • Nice find brother,it gives u another excuse to spend shitloads of $!!!! image
  • Umn here was the auction link home skillet... not exactly shitloads of $. image

hehe,,, well let's just say I didn't plan on losing it!  image
  • How did you know it was a 3 screw with no back picture to go by?
  • Wheres the black marker on the back?
  • not to hijack, but could someone provide some background of what 3 screw/5 screw/hangtab/non-hangtab discussion is about? i noticed the recent 5 screw mega man carts attracted a lot of attention too.

You can tell if a cart is 3 or 5 screw just by seeing the front face. Top part corners are flat on a 5 screw cart, cause it is the screws that joined the front and the back top case part together.
How could you missed that blarky? Maybe you hardcore sealed collectors don't see much often NES cartsimage.
  • hmmm....i got one sitting at the local store. I'll have to go check it out this week.
  • Karnov damnit!
  • ...Well... That's one more to add to my "to-get" list :/ ... At least I have that Caltron variant out of the way, though, lol image . Congrats on the pick-up, Erik image .

Wow good to know.  What you say makes sense now that I am comparing front pictures of various carts.  The 3 screws have those extra notches at the top where the plastic clip holds the cart together.  And you don't even have to see the top or back... just the front picture can tell you what you want to know.  Forensic science at it's best image

  • To the person who asked about the marker on the back as stated in the auction... thankfully whoever had this has never heard of goo gone. Two drops of that on the name written on the back and it was good as new. image
