i think we all know what going to happen, the wings are just too good, they have such amazing depth and all there star players play so well at both ends of the ice. These guys know what it takes to win and i just don't think the pens are ready yet. people can doubt osgood all they want, but he pretty much won them the game tonight, and hes a proven playoff performer, people say any goalie will win with that team infront of him but he's been making some huge saves and i really like his game right now. Though if malkin and crosby keep playing like they have been, its gonna be alot closer this year. I am a big wings fan though so i will of course be cheering for them, plus i pretty much hate crosbys life lol
I always love to watch north american sports but since a week or 2 our TV provider did a cut in their channels and redistributed them. Now I can't watch the north american sports anymore. I like MLB, NHL and NFL and those were the only things I did watch. I don't really like the European soccer leagues and stuff so I'm kind off sad. I did watch the playoffs, though I wasn't favouring any team, I really did like it!
I'm pretty bitter about the Hawks loss, but I think anyone who follows the sport saw it coming a mile away. That said, I HATE the Red Wings. They're the favorite team of every asshole wannabe hockey fan in the US.
Yeah, the thing about Osgood is that while he may not be the flashiest or the best goalie out there, he's not typically prone to making big mistakes either and plus he's really steady and not easily shaken. He may not steal many games for the Wings, but he's not going to lose many, that's for sure.
But I can't help but cheer for the Pens, since the Wings remind me of the Devils of old. I love attacking hockey. Sitting back all game and waiting for mistakes bores the piss out of me. And you can only flip the couch cusions so many times.

i think it will be a good series at the very least. still hoping for the pens. can't deny the strength of osgood and the red wings, but i think the pens are firing on all cylinders right now.
Wanted the Hawks or the Caps personally, but now will be rooting for the Pens. I watched Marc-Andre Flurry play in the AHL for a few years, on the Admirals biggest rival, and he was flat out amazing. And seeing the guys who have the best chance of reviving the NHL win would be nice.
Okay, the Wings win a lot,but, they kinda deserve it when you think about it. That's a solid organization that has been able to compose an amazing team. Wings players give their best every game or so, from the star player to the fourth line. Watching them playing is beautiful, whatever if they won last year or a couple years ago. That's sports. Nadal and Federer won every Tennis tournament during a period of time and everybody was amazed, but when it comes to team sports, we seem to be cynical when a dynasty is taking place. Remember the 4 straight Stanley Cup Champion Islanders, and then Oilers, that was great hockey time. Maybe the Wings are ready for a couple of win in a row too, I'm not against that [...]

yeah, i do like the dynasty idea, but i would rather it be the pens . they had it going in the early 90s are are getting back into that rhythm. i know i'm super biased being a pens fan all my life, but i think they've got a shot this year, even if the wings have a great team. i as well hate the hype around crosby. i loved him before all the hype, now it just feels like i'm following the crowd. however, he has impressed me a lot in the last two series. Definitely stepped it up a notch. He's no Gretzky, but he's definitely making the needed plays at the right time. malkin has been amazing as well. i think it will be a good series. can't wait to watch it tomorrow.

Malkin and Ovechkin are generaly more dominant than him, but they don't specify it too much and too directly, but when he score a winning goal or get more points than Malkin in a short streak, they put the crown on his head right away.
Anyway, enough Crosby talk. I hope this series will be exciting until the last minute, cause we just passed through some slacks Conference final. Both teams can bring the Cup home, we'll see the battle on the ICE!!!

I saw the first game last night in the Toronto airport. I'll probably watch the series, although it sucks that a Canadian team didn't get in this year (like most years ).
