  • I like it. Every dumb kid who throws their case away now is going to pay big $$$ for a CIB when they're older.

Maybe I'm just a little bitter about throwing away all my old NES stuff. image
  • I can vaguely understand people losing instructions and jewel cases from the PS1 days since CD cases are more rigid and fragile than modern clamshell cases...but then again I kept all of my stuff from that era in pristine condition.

But the new stuff...it's freaking indestructible. There is absolutely no reason to discard the case and instructions from modern games. It really speaks to how trashy some people are that they can't manage the simple task of storing a virtually invincible piece of plastic successfully.
  • Maybe you should put out an ad buying empty ds cases $2 each image
  • I always thing the same thing when I am at a Gamestop and the only games that they have that I want have no cases.

lol, arch you are always so brazen and that's why I love you.  People are now trashy because they can't keep a DS case? lol...

Think of it this way, PS1 is a actual console for a TV, DS is a PORTABLE system, keyword is PORTABLE.  If little Billy is taking his DS to Grandma's house for the weekend, does he really want to lug around 5 of his game cases and manuals?  That would defeat the purpose of "portable" if you have to take a suitcase of games with you everywhere you go.  All little Billy does is buy the plastic snap-case that lets you store 5-10 DS games and he takes his favorites with him and it takes up barely any space at all.

Remember, most kids aren't collectors, they are gamers image  One of the favorite pieces of my collection is my original N64 Goldeneye.  The box is probably like a 4/10, all of my other N64 games from childhood are easily 8 or 9s.  What's the difference?  I played GE like it was my job, took it to all my friends houses who didn't have it and it got the most use by far out of any game I've ever owned.  That tattered box of mine will NEVER be upgraded because looking at its wear reminds me of just how badass that game was in its prime image

  • Still why throw the case away? Just put it on a shelf or in a closet or attic.
  • Like mentioned most people like probally 99 percent of them, buy games to play and are not collectors.
  • Same reason nothing else new on craigslist has the case/box. It's all freaking stolen...
  • You should also be aware that loose DS games often are pirates. That's how they often are sold. There's tons of these games polluting the market. You can never be safe. Gamestops here in Norway have shitloads of pirate GBA games, probably a lot of DS ones also. When I sold pirates (...yeah whatever) for the GBA, I could not tell the difference from a real Minish Cap from the fake I got (only the boxes and manuals). I guess this is the case with DS games also, the carts are probably hard to tell if they are fake.

On focalprice they sell copies of the american DS releases that cost a lot...pretty much intended for scaming..
  • different personality types maybe?

Some people could give 2 shits about the 'case' and manual when they buy a video game. Some people take pride in anything/everything they purchase with hard earned money and would keep the original stuff in good shape.

Some people are just fucking lazy.

  • Any GBA pirate does not have Nintendo printed on the inside where the connectors are. It's visible if you just look up the connector slot on any GBA cart. No pirate will have "Nintendo" printed in there.

I hate it when people on craigslist have ads that say "40 DS games for 100$", and it's really just a flashcard with lots of games on it.
