NA Community Dump #4 Advanced Dungeons & Dragons Dragons of Flame
This is a fully English translated Nintendo of America licensed ROM chip unreleased prototype that FCI was going to bring out in the US. It is on an MMC1 SKEPROM long prototype board.
I'm looking at $750 for the ROM for this one, and I will release this with a "bonus" released prototype ROM.
I said I would release one of the previous games with 2 "bonus" prototype ROMS, and here is one of them so far. I will release a bonus ROM with this game, and still have one more to come!
Donators, please place how much you can contribute to this in the body of your responses! I will start taking donations when we are close to $650-700 and update the thread accordingly.
Again, since we had some issues last time with things, I will release and upload this MYSELF once payments are made and NOT CHANGE ANYTHING ON THE ROM.
Also, there is a reproduction of a FAN TRANSLATED version of this right now. MAKE NO MISTAKE, this is the real deal and not DUMPED.
Let's get this show on the road!

my wallet died when hoppin mad came out

PS - Didn't someone ask about a AD&D prototype in another one of these threads? I could have sworn it was dragonlunch, guess he didn't care much about it after all.
I guess the only other thing is that it's not like I got all of my stuff for free either...
Not sure what the problem is, I'm releasing this myself AS-IS no changes to the title screen, don't know what issue there is from that anymore, meaning I will post it myself when payment(s) are done.

Well I'm bored with time to kill, so I'll respond. Here's the date and amount for each of the last Community Dump threads:
Mike Tyson: 3/19/2009 - $2000 Goal reduced to $1500. 51 Donators
http://www.nintendoage.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=5&threadid=17398
War on Wheels: 4/26/2009 - $5000 Goal. Project failed.
http://www.nintendoage.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=5&threadid=18714
U Force Power Games: 4/20/2009 - $500 Goal. 16 Donators, although $236.94 carried over from MTIPP. Interesting to note, of those 16 donators, 13 donated in the previous MTIPP ROM dump and the only 3 newcomers were GameBoyRicky, Dangevin and Modusco.
http://www.nintendoage.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=5&threadid=18517
Exerion II: 5/1/2009 - Goal $750, reduced to $500. 24 Donators, 7 had not previously donated in a ROM dump (JNES, Kcsims, Quack, Rdunfee, TheRedEye, Zeta_Daekonu, Zi)
http://www.nintendoage.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=5&threadid=18877
Now it's Advanced Dungeons & Dragons: 6/1/2009 - $750 Goal with 10 donators so far and guess what... 0 new donators.
What should this tell you? It's the same people donating over and over again. You might as well just give these people a monthly invoice for $20 because that is exactly what this has turned into. It's the same people... mods, the rich or the hardcore homebrew guys that are doing the donating.
I'm not here to bash what you are doing, that's been covered 100 times before. But I do find it appalling that you act like the community has no money. That's not the problem at all, it's just that most of us have bills to pay and quite frankly Ibet most people don't want a $20 a month ROM/Prototype bill too.
It's fun when the releases are spaced out and there's anticipation between them of what may come next. When it just becomes a routine, it gets boring and thats why people aren't donating.
PS - Also, for someone who is pretty adamant about "My prices are fair because I'm only recouping the cost I paid", you drop your prices really quickly. I don't buy into the whole facade that you are bending over backwards for the community and generously dropping your asking price by $250, rather I think you are using the typical overpriced BIN tactic to paint yourself as a savior. I don't think this is such a stretch because in every thread you post in you explicitly state that "XXX is for sale, but don't expect to pay market value because I'll only part with it for MY PRICE". Everything you sell has always been on your terms at and your price regardless of market value, and quite frankly I think people have now figured this out.
I'd rather give $10 directly to bunnyboy because the day this rom releases he'll make it a cart and profit off the NA donations as well.

Make it $15 and you have a deal!
I really don't think it has anything to do with some grand scheme that has been overturned, we just have had a number of different purchases all in a short period of time. Many peoples priority would lie on getting that LE numbered release as opposed to a ROM dump especially if money was tight.
For me it was too soon after Hoppin Mad, that used up the last of my funds and I really want Frogger as well. To top it all off I'm between jobs so money is extra tight. If DreamTR was to put this on hold for a month or even till the end of the summer then I would have no problem making a donation. I have only missed one release and that was just simply because I missed the donation thread it went too quick.

You reiterated most of my statements... A) Same people are donating over and over (you participated in 3 of 4) and
I never said I unearthed some grand scheme, it's just that most of us know what it takes to get an item out of DreamTR's hands and its never cheap.
A suggest I would have in addition to spacing them out would be to lower the minium donation to $10. Might get some more interest that way, especially from some of the newer people or people with not much money to spare.
Everyone must be broke! = P
I think it is more that there are too many things being produced here at the moment. I would likely have donated to at least one more if they weren't every freakin' week. I'm working on a collection first and I will never consider these ROMs as part of the set. This stuff is fun, but not part of my ultimate goal personally. Hoppin' Mad and Frogger both came out within days of each other and this is the 5th ROM dump proposal in a couple months. It just seems like everybody is in a hurry to shoot their load. I think the extra activity would be much more successful if it was spaced out more. I mean, what's the hurry? Build a little hype and maybe the price will come easier.
To those who collect NES to relive thier youth this couldn't be a finer example.
wether you decide to wait a bit or not you can be sure I'll be able to donate something
I don't think either of Hoppin Mad or Frogger was a hurry, they just both happened to be done around the same time. Both were in development for many many months and had a month of hype before actually being for sale. Doesn't mean there isn't too much for sale but that's to be expected as more people have good ideas.
I agree with you totally Bunny and that is what I really meant. They are all great projects for sure. I am all for whatever anybody wants to throw into the mix. I just can't keep up.
Not that I don't have money. I think what Jason's doing is fine, and for those more hardcore than me, it's probably really exciting. I like having these opportunities, but I only pony up for the things I wanna see.
jonebone, that post was a JOKE about people not having money, that's why I put a =P next to it.
You need to seriously chill, though. You really think I got these games cheap or something, and you think bringing one-of-a-kinds at my prices is expensive? I just paid close to $5000 for two unreleased NES games for YOU guys to EVENTUALLY play. Who's going to lose on that? Me. Who's going to win? The ones not donating.
I mean, if you want to call me out on something like this, by all means, but you're 100% wrong. WHy don't you try and spend some money to acquire these games and release them if you have such a voice?
I know some people are rubbed the wrong way by the way I am doing this, but these are the same people who buy/sell things for profit in every aspect, but have this weird idea protos should either be for free, or you should not profit from them. I'd love to see where my profit is on this.
These protos are just what I have left. I've had them for awhile, and I can understand splitting the releases wold be better, but it's always ME being attacked on these releases. No one else. If I had them in a box/manual/limited cart run, I am sure I would not be attacked for some reason though, and "limited" carts are a whole other story. If you can't see how someone MAKES MORE MONEY doing BOXED RELEASES on this, and gets NO FLACK for it, then look at what is going on here, you have to wonder if it's not the same old tired complaining whining story here.
I can't exactly get unreleased NES protos cheap. People will not part with them, and in some instances, some people make you buy like $15,000 worth of crap before you get to the real deal. I've been working on one guy for 7 years with some amazing stuff, and it's taking FOREVER, but slowly but surely, it's coming this way. It's not like it's dust off the ground, but joneboro, you're way out of line on this one.
And you really think my games are overpriced? Wow. I would have had $5000 for Tyson. Not sure how me "losing" $3500 to keep my game is selfish for the community. I traded a freaking gold NWC for Squashed, and it's not that's worth anything. I could go on and on about these. You should check where most of the unreleased NES protos out on the web have come from, I'm almost certain at least 10 are from me, and I know I lost money releasing them, so again, you are 100% wrong.
