The Hangover

I'm not big on going to see comedies in theaters, i prefer to rent them and watch them at home. But this movie was funny as hell!  I highly recommend this movie, it never lets up with the humor and is one of the more better written comedies I've seen lately.

  • Really? I saw the preview in front of Terminator Salvation, but it didn't really strike me as being all that great.
  • Saw it last night too. Funny as Folk
  • ohh this is about a movie. boo..

I'm feeling shitty this morning and was hoping someone shared in my discomfort.
  • Going to see this tonight. Side note: gamecollectman - your avatar of Cutler is money!!!!

Thanks bro,Cutler will lead us to glory soon. image  Also your money will be well spent tonight, this movie is hilarious. According to various websites, heading into this weekend forecasters thought "Land of the Lost" would be the big moneymaker but instead it was only estimated to have made $8 Million Friday, but "The Hangover" destroyed the Box Office Friday night and was estimated to have made like $17 Million in one day!
  • All you need to know is 2 words, Zack Galifianakis!
  • great movie... loved Zack and his side kick "Carlos", especially when they are at the pool. I recommend this film to anyone
  • I just got back from this. It was really entertaining, but not nearly as funny as I was expecting it to be.

The trend of full frontal male nudity as a comic device disturbs me.
  • aaron, i agree... i just watched Forgetting Sarah Marshall on HBO... i was NOT expecting to see a jungle with a tiny mushroom tip sticking out from it. then they showed it again at the end. WTF!?!?!?!

as usual, i will wait for this to come out on dvd. each rated R comedy has been a let-down since superbad. i am expecting this to be okay, but not great.
  • speaking of male nudity, glad the avatar is no longer the nut sack...
  • ^^^ NEVER mention Seth's avatar to Seth...because inevitably he'll get nostalgic and change it back image

As for the movie, I'll check out a matinee, but I'm not will to shell out full price. As soon as I saw the Mike Tyson seen in the previews, I knew this would be entertaining.
  • I'm going to have to agree with Aaron here. Good movie, funny moments...but I didn't laugh anywhere near as much as in Step Brothers. And lets be honest people, the run of Judd Apatow comedies/Seth Rogen acts can't hold a candle to early Adam Sandler (Billy Madison/Happy Gilmore).
  • arch, good point. if you wouldnt have posted that response to tom's post, my crotch skin would be shown right now. you have saved the community... FOR NOW! muahaha! image

step brothers was good clean comedy. i love that comedy duo!!!

    that's an awesome movie...
  • it was awesome because there was a gorgeous blond and a gorgeous brunette, both in bikinis, in EVERY scene of the movie! i liked the religious couple the best... if it werent for them, i wouldnt have liked the movie that much.
  • I'm getting sick of seeing full frontal male nudity every time this movie ends. Ugh. Didn't find it as funny as everyone else here seems to have though.
  • i saw this the other day, sooooo funny, and the pics at the end of the movie just make it so much better, i'm most likely going to go see it again, its that funny
  • Ended up seeing it last night. It was every bit as funny as I hoped.

I could have done without the couple of BJ pics, though.
  • ^the BJ pics at the end were a little much i agree, but full male frontal nudity as a comedic device is genius, considering the MPAA used to be so strict on it and now they are more lenient. Not that i enjoy to look at cock, but when you aren't expecting it... my god how funny and distrubing it is all at the same time.

The whole trend of male nudity and male gaydom, but not gay is a whole new era of comedy that we will continue to see until it becomes norm just as toilets, couples sharing a bed and boobs were once taboo in film.
  • Yeah, I was REALLY caught off guard by the BJ pics. I was of the understanding that erections or explicit sex acts were an instant NC-17 or higher.

Yeah I'm really confused about that myself.  Maybe it was because they were photographs and not a moving picture?  Hm.

But yeah, it really could have done without that.  Or at least just suggest it image

  • I enjoy the shock in something like that, especially when sucking a pee-pee isn't supposed to be in mainstream movies. very funny, but man, Mr G's weener isn't my cup of tea.
