First 100 Nintendo Powers

I'm looking to collect the first 100 Nintendo Power Magazines in Mint Condition with the Posters.

How difficult is this to do, and how much would I expect to pay?

Also: What is the difference between back issues and regular issues?

  • A back issue is an issue that is no longer on newstands as far as I know. If thats what your asking.
  • Thank you, I always wondered about that.

I'd still like to know a price estimate before I try this feat.
  • umm not a lot if your smart about it you can get Nintendo Powers for $1.00-$1.50 a peice. I would say the first 10 are the only ones that cost more than the others and its still near nothing..I got issue one for $12 shipped and then issue 2 and 4 were like $4...
  • Sounds good, I guess I'll try to get these. Thanks!
  • I suggest that you go to your local comic shop and get the magazine boards, bags and storage boxes /w lid. I have done this and it keeps your collection looking nice and will keep them safe. The mag box keeps the mags standing upright and keeps them neat.

Just a suggestion. It doesn't cost that much for the benefits you get out of the supplies.
  • I'd agree with the above. I collected them and only paid about $1-$2 each, and even less if you can find the right person selling a large lot. I also agree the first 10 are what will cost the most, and probably be the harder ones to find.
  • ^^^ I agree with that. I lucked out and found 1-163 on ebay, poorly listed for 50 bucks. There out there, you just have to look. Good luck!
  • Yes, finding all the issues is relatively easy. Finding the issues in MINT condition with posters is rather difficult, unless you're willing to end up with a lot of doubles. Personally, I'm working on 1-64(?) for the moment (the NES era), and it's rather tough to find them mint, with poster, and with no subscription cards torn out.

As stated above, though, expect to pay about $1/issue, except for 1-10, and 17 (Final Fantasy Guide). There are always very good finds if you're careful, so keep your eyes peeled. Magazine bags and boards are an excellent idea. I would suggest trying some bags from www.bagsunlimited.com, though, as they offer ones with nice resealable flaps that make storing them much easier.
