Is there a rule of thumb in pricing for manuals?

I know the minter the better, but is there a general rule of thumb in figuring out pricing for manuals?  A percentage of the game value or something?  Any help would be appreciated.  Trying to sell a bunch, and don't want to ask too much or too little.

  • I've heard approximately 25% of the cart value, but not sure if that really holds any validity
  • thats what i had found, roughly equal value of cart for box, and 25% for manual. Obviously less for super common games, and ultimately youll only get what someone will pay.
  • It's more 50% than 25% in most cases.
  • Let's *make* the rule 1/3 of cart price.
  • I would argue that saying boxes are the same price as carts is ALOT more untrue than 25% manual to cart value. So many boxes are worth more than the carts... especially if the boxes are minty. Just for instance name me a black box game where the box isn't worth more than the cart? In general if common NES carts are worth average of $2... common NES manuals averaging 50 cents seems right to me. And that is what 50% of the NES library? So at least it's a good place to start.
