What kind of signatures should forum members use?
I've been on loads of forums across the Internet and for some reason a lot of people decide to have absolutely HUGE signatures with text matching the post which can sometimes make it hard to comprehend what the person is saying.
What sort of signatures should we use? Some sites ban signatures that are longer than 3 lines.
I think it's okay to have an image signature as long as it's thin. Although even my signature might be annoying as purple stands out a bit.

I use that signature on loads of websites because it updates to whatever my Newgrounds signature is. But for this site I might make one that is as wide as the posts (just for perfect fitting).
I'd prefer you don't use a signature with a donation link. What are we donating to you for anyway?
When people don't like me they send about 1 or 5 cents saying that they pity me. Over time it mounts up!
= D
This
is actually the only forum that I post on which allows images in sigs.
I think that's cool as long as no one abuses it and the images stay
small like you suggested.
Yeah, although I wonder if it would be taking the piss to have a tiny ".swf" sig' that plays a catchy beat. Maybe a NES tune might be acceptable. But if everyone did it then the sounds would be chaos.

I think Dain was saying he does not want you to have that in your signature. Just FYI, he's the man around here

No way, that won't happen. I don't think it would on ANY board, it would just suck.

HELL NO.

Ohh, he's a founder!

Yeah, true.
HELL NO.
Wouldn't be fair on other users.
Ahhhh.... Good times. But seriously. You should take the donation button out of your sig.
What's wrong with it? It's just a graphic.

No, it's not just a graphic otherwise it would be a plain IMG without an associated link. The mods are being very nice by politely suggesting that it would be a good idea to take out the link. Why not just play nice and do as asked rather than asking 20 questions?

From
my estimation it doesn't have to be justified. The site owner has a
preference. You don't have to agree with his opinion, but it's his site
so you know, pick your battles.

Yeah, I think the sig is hilarious but it's Dain's site. I also think taking your shoes off coming into a house ruins any sense of hospitality, but I still take mine off coming into a friend's house who has a rule about it. (I also live somewhere that doesn't have weather)

Yeah, yeah. I'm currently in the process of changing my sig.

Really? I prefer people take their shoes off...it dramatically extends the life of your flooring and prevents dirt/debris from getting tracked all over the house.

It's funny, because people in Canada always take their shoes off when going in houses... every house, including your own.
Sometimes when I go down to Florida to visit my mom, we'll go into somebody else's house, and I'll take my shoes off when we get in... and the owner of the house would be like "wtf?"

That's so true! I went to -40° Calgary, and the Rockies. For some reason we always had to take our shoes off. It was like going to a Mosque. Though, we were up to our asses in snow so I suppose it would have just made the carpet dirty. I loved freezing my nostrils.
