Shipping Question

I have a toploader that needs to be shipped out but I have no more boxes laying around the house and I dont feel like spending money on a box. My question is whether or not it is ok to ship in a shoe box? Its one of those nice shoeboxes where the flap is connected so it is very sturdy. I just didnt know if USPS had a problem with this... Thanks guys!!

  • You can ship in about anything, that will be fine. I used to ship in popcorn and pop tart boxes all the time, lol.

  • If you ship Priority you can get free boxes.
  • Thanks NGD Ill remember to save my pap tart boxes from now on.. lol... I have a bunch of free priority boxes but I planning on sending it parcel and the mail lady can get picky on me sometimes.. Thanks guys
  • With a lot of the larger priority boxes you can just cut the weld with a razor knife and turn it inside out. Tape it thoroughly, make um strong like bear. But the PO won't know the difference. Whenever someone buys my ready-to-go-NES-toasters and pays parcel post I just flip the flat rate 'cube' inside out and it's good to go.
  • And yes, technically it's fraud. Misuse of postal property. But they're getting my money anyways image
  • My PO won't let me do that, I have tried. I either have to go back home or sent it priority image To smart for there own good.

you seen the new boxes the have priority stampped on the inside also. i get all my boxes from wal mart when the put out frieght i get the boxes
  • I've got the flat rate priority boxes too.  I pull them apart at the seem and turn 'em inside out.  However, last time I went in the PO, she asked me "are these priority boxes, inside out?"  She said there gonna start charging me for priority.  I told her that someone mailed me something in a priority box and I re-used it.  If the box was paid for, originally, I think I have the right to do whatever I want with it.  I shouldn't have to use it priority, it was paid for at one time.
  • I just go to a local store and ask for spare boxes.
