New collector with questions!

Hey guys! I'm new to this site and the world of collecting and just had a few questions that I hope could be answered. I grew up in the age of the SNES (I'm 20) and love it to death, but I recently bought an NES with 20 or so games. Now I've become quite serious about wanting to start collecting. That is where my question comes in...Which console is better/more profitable to collect for? I know more about the snes but I am not sure if these games will be worth collecting since the NES seems to be where the gems are at. Please help me out as I feel like going on a little spending spree to start my collection image

  • Firstly, get off my name >:[

Secondly, buy whatever you enjoy. There's no "better". If you're looking for profit, well, you're asking the wrong guy. I haven't made a dime! But there are some shrewd dudes here, and I mean that in a good way, so I'm sure you'll get some useful opinions.

  • I would have to agree with OSG. If you are into just collecting stay with what you love.

However, I have a shop and for the most part our SNES games are a little higher per cart than NES. However, we sell a crap load more NES carts. If you were into shear profit you would have to debate wether you wanted to flip more carts or fewer for the same buck so to speak.

    Any other opinions guys?

  • Easilty understandable way to put it. I just grew up with the SNES being my first system so i know a lot more about the gems and great deals compared to the NES (which i also have) where i only know the major games (Zelda's, Mario Bros, etc)

    Yes any more opinions?

  • Welcome to the site. If you are more familiar with the SNES, collect it. YOU have to ask your self if you want to collect for investment or do you want to collect for the love of the system?
  • Welcome to the site man!
