At long last, I've finally hit my first real collecting goal
After receiving a nice CIB copy of Die Hard I've been waiting to get in from an Amazon seller, I've finally finished my complete loose licensed NTSC set. This has been my ultimate goal for as long as I can remember and I can tell you that this has been a crazy journey.
I just wanted to thank everyone from this community and the various other communities for all of their help in allowing me to reach my goal. Many people have helped me get to where I am and I just wanted to give them a shout out and say thanks.
Seth: You were the first person to really help me get a chunk of this done. Without you, I'm sure I'd still be 100 carts away. You're the man dude, thanks so much!
Pats1717: Scott, you're easily one of the best new members to come across the board and I for one am very happy that you're here. Not only have you hooked me up with some very difficult to find games, but you did it at bargain basement prices. Thanks again!
BeaglePuss: Matt, without a partner in crime, who knows how long I even would have kept at this collection? You're my backbone, thanks for your endless searches on EBay and your wallet keeping some of the stress off of me. You rock bro!
Well, it's a shitty pic, but this is where I'm at:

The bottom 2 shelves on the left bookcase are doubles and other random junk, the rest is straight collection. The top shelf holds my CE Sivak releases and my NWC Repro and Airball repro. The second shelf holds a Super Copa North American NTSC cart.
The top right shelf holds most of my rarer and more valuable carts (test carts, SE, higher end protos, etc.), the second shelf holds my personal conrotller, the third holds my fami carts, and the fifth holds my cleaning supplies.
There are also various protos scattered on nearly every shelf, though they're tough to see in the picture.
All my boxes and manuals are at my parents' house, but I want to take a picture of some of the nicer ones that I have come across. I have just about 300 boxes with some nice rares in the mix, be nice to have them in a picture together.
As to what's next for me, I'm thinking of polishing off the last 50 or so unlicensed games I need, and then keeping my focus on protos. I'll buy up nice CIB's if the price is right, but I don't intend to ever go the full CIB route.
So I think that's it, woo hoo!

EDIT: And I totally second the fact that Pats1717 is a awesome addition to the site, he has not only hooked me up.. but helped me find ways to unconventionally make some collecting dough.
But you guys do both know that I'm Mark, not Matt, right?
That Big Box Gyro has a small puncture in the front, otherwise it would be damn near mint. Doesn't bother me at all, and cut the price down to $175 shipped when they were selling for $350+ about a year ago.
Also Fris thanks for the kind words
Thanks Ray and Seth...

hahahahahahah damn, this made me laugh out loud. i had to double check my post to see that i screwed up your name. hahahaha, damn that is hilarious! even more awesome that ray did it too!
best part about that is the fact that i do not even know or speak to any matts! haha. i dont think i have talked to your brother yet on here yet!
Josh, Jake, Jordan,
Kyle, Kate, Kris,
etc.
Do you have another sibling who has a name that starts with "M" as well? Did your parents try to torture you as kids by doing that naming thing: Matt, Mark, Mildew
Josh, Jake, Jordan,
Kyle, Kate, Kris,
etc.
Oddly enough, my sister's name is Marion. It wasn't some plan set up by my parents though, we just happened to be named after people. When my mother was first told she was having twins, it was thought that we would be fraternal boy/girl twins. The female name she had picked out, although I can't remember exactly what it was, did not start with an M.
If I had a sister named mildew, that would be pretty sweet!
I'll buy up nice CIB's if the price is right, but I don't intend to ever go the full CIB route.
Don't worry, that will change... until then great job! Are you including major variants like gold/gray Zeldas?

I'm doing all games released by more than 1 company (Taito/Ubi Indy's), and games that were different when re-released (MTPO and Punch-Out) as well as both Gold/Grey Zelda and Gold/Grey Links. I don't have a yellow Metroid or red Blades of Steel or different labeled Untouchables, but I've never been a variant guy.
My entire collection (including boxes and manuals) can be found here: http://www.rfgeneration.com/cgi-bin/collection.pl
One thing to note, the screw/seal information is not correct for my games. That was something RFgeneration implemented well after I had started using their database. There is a chance I own a game or two not cataloged there, but I'm 99.99999% sure that I've got them all. If I have a day to alphabetize them and check side by side, I'll go ahead and arrange them that way.
And Brian, no way will I go the full CIB route. 3 reasons:
1. I don't have the space
2. I don't want to have to spend the money
3. An SE box is damn near impossible to get.
I love having the boxes when they're available, but I'm not going to make it a goal to collect them all. Unlicensed, and then protos for the rest of my time as a collector.
