Is there a hang tab Zelda box for the 5 screw cart?

I was just wondering if the 5 screw Zelda came with a hang tab box.  Ive never seen one.

  • Nope, has not been confirmed at all
  • What do you guys value a 5 screw zelda at? I got one but don't really know what the going rate is.
  • But its possible its out there?

It goes for about the same as a standard 3-screw Zelda, about $7-$10 or so loose.

I, too, have yet to see a hangtab box for Zelda :/ ...
  • I pretty sure a -CAN one exists though.

  • So can we conclude that:

3 screw Zelda == white oval seal box

5 screw Zelda == grey circular seal box

    yes/no ???
  • Not necessarily, blarky...there were 3-screw carts produced a year or two before the newer seal came out.

I'm not sure, Zelda II is 3 screw only and got the circular seal.

  • Cool thanks. So is there any way to tell if a sealed copy is 3 screw or 5 screw?
  • Not an expert, but non REV-A maybe ?

Edit : You could also open it, that would be the easier way to know image.
  • Blarky I believe I have 5-6 different Zelda boxes, maybe more, I'm not that far in my master colleciton list yet but I see at least that many in the pile.
  • There's a non Rev-A box, which I always assumed held the 5 screw cart.

I was just about to say the same thing -- I'm pretty sure I've got at least 6 variation boxes.
  • Hmm ok.  How about this?

white oval seal box == definitely has 3 screw cart
grey circular seal box == might have 5 screw cart

I guess there's always the X-ray machine to find out for sure!

  • Well for right now I can tell you I have my 5-screw Zelda cart in the NON REV-A circle seal box. I find it very hard to believe a hang-tab box is out there. I don't even have a -CAN or any PAL Zelda boxes with a hang-tab on them either?

*EDIT* Also one other thing that makes me believe there isn't one.  That Greatest Hoard of all time post I made about a year back where Batty and I got the first 100 or so NES games released minus SE and DK MATH from that guy's who's uncle died who originally collected NES when they first came out.  Anyways... that guys stuff was 100% MINTY FRESH.  His way of collecting was to buy them take them out of the seal and just stick them on the shelf.  None of them even had paint cracking along the spines of the top flap.  Well his Zelda was the non Rev-A cirlce seal and it was a 5-screw cart inside.  I know this still doesn't mean there CAN'T be a few that made it out but it makes it that much more unlikely in my mind as all this guys stuff were first release hang-tab or Nintendo Circle STICKER seal BB 1st releases.
