You are crazy man!!! i wish i had that type of cash floating around. If you dont mind me asking what do you do for a living??
I own two video game websites. One is JJGames.com, an online retailer of used video games (mostly the old stuff). The other is VGPC.com, a website that tracks the value of about 13,000 video games. JJGames is my main source of income.

Campus Challenge's were held in 91 and 92. They basically travelled to college campuses and held contests to see who the best players were. The 91 competition was Mario 3, Pinbot, and Dr. Mario. 92 was Super Mario World, F-Zero, and Pilot Wings. There is only 1 known copy of both 91 and 92 Campus Challenge. Most of them were destroyed, but there may be a few more out there somewhere.
The NA ezine had a really good write up about the game a few months back.
JJ, congrats! Like Dain said every major deal like this legitimizes the hobby a little more so it is great to see. Thanks for sharing our nintendo obsession.
Bronty, I'm collecting pinball and arcade machines for the arcade, and pins can be expensive....I figure with the NCC repro I don't need this anymore, and War on WHeels I want someone to make boxes/manuals/carts, but I don't have time, and no one really wants to step up on that one....so it's available for anyone else with time...

Are pinball machines worth the investment these days? Do they get enough play?
I thought the same thing about arcade machines in another thread, but my thought was that other than fighting games people would be way more likely to just play on their home console.
Pinball is different, though. There aren't any really good pinball simulators that provide the same feel as the arcade experience.
A NEW pinball machine would probably be tough to cash-flow for awhile, but an excellent condition classic machine would probably be a solid investment if you know how to do the work on them and keep them clean.
Think about it. How many pinball machines are there in your area, and where would you play them? Can you think of ANY place with more than just 1-2 new Stern pinballs? We've got around 15 now and 100 arcade machines, and the pins keep making money. We've got some cheap ones hidden with some gems, but we maintain them, and it's worth it thus far...
People play all sorts of things still at arcades. You guys aren't thinking outside the box. Why do places like Ground Kontrol do well?
People can buy liquor and take it home and drink. WHy go to bars/restaurants then? Social gatherings still work. Playing by yourself on console is fine but for competitive gaming, you still won't find a better place than a PUBLIC place.
So, which body parts are you currently missing JJ?
Are Kidneys worth $14k nowadays?
Congrats man, youre living out many collectors dreams right now! Enjoy it
Haha. I figured I have 2 kidneys but 0 Campus Challenges. I might as well even things out a bit more.

I agree with DreamTR, there will always be a place for social gaming and arcades. They aren't as popular as they once were but still have a following. I just wish there was a decent arcade in Denver. There is a really good one in Colo. Springs, but that is an hour drive (two in rush hour)
Evolution Fighting Game Championships this weekend....1100 people for Street Fighter IV. You know people can't get better and go to public tournaments where all the money is by "just" playing online...we run SF4 here at the arcade and it does very very well.

Dang, you are in Denver. Had this deal happened about a month ago, I would have wanted to stop by and see these carts. Do you have just an online store or a physical store as well?

We are mostly online, but have a physical store/warehouse were people can pickup orders and see everything we have. For obvious reasons I don't keep all the really expensive stuff lying around the store, but at some point I hope to let people see them.

The arcade scene is dead in Anchorage, so I don't see pinball machines that often at all. When I did, they were in arcades and movie theaters, and never saw much play. People were always crowded around the fighting games and the Virtua Cop/Lethal Enforces style games. I'm glad they're working out for you. I've never met a hard core pinball guy before, but I know they're out there.

NY guy owns ones SNES Campus, and Shrimp owns the other. Only one Powerfest 94 is out there from the same guy that owns the SNES Campus in NY.
Those are in fact who I meant.
