If those were available in stores (sealed) near me, I'd buy them up considering all of those have been out of print for at least a year. Your sampling isn't any more convincing than me pasting more links of games ending over MSRP:
But, I'll be the first to agree that the completed auction data for sealed DS games really doesn't provide enough pricing data since several of these games haven't been sold in sealed form recently.
Well it comes down to supply & demand, really. Many of these games (esp. first party ones) are prodcued in absurdly high quantities these days and many collectors are sitting on sealed copies of them now (so they don't get "left behind" like in NES/SNES/PSX era). I question the demand side. Also, Dain, I realize one can always point out auctions that go high and go low but my point was in general most of those games do not go for much. I hope you are right about the values because I have about 50 sealed games I am about to post for sale soon.
nice dain you get a chance to actually play all those yet??
I've probably played about half of them. DS is the system played the most in my household, simply because my wife loves it and we'll play together quite a bit.

You're right, there are a lot of games released for girls (and boys) under the age of 12 and that's probably one reason why this system will be even more collectible in the future: you'll now have guy AND girl collectors to compete with. This goes for all age groups though, as the DS tends to cater to just about any age group and any gamer types from the stone-aged puzzle people (me) to the young whipper-snapper hardcore gamers (not me, anymore).
The problem is that many of the best games simply aren't released in great enough numbers to get noticed, so you're left with (literally) hundreds of games that you've never heard of. And stores like Best Buy, etc, typically stock games with branding they know will sell, like Hannah Montana. In my experience with DS collecting, you'll quickly find that *most* games are not available in stores, so I can certainly understand your perception of it being a "kiddie" system.
I was more going towards the point of, if I was going to collect everything for the system, I'd feel like I should just hand the guy at the front desk of Best Buy all my Man Cards as I walk in the door. I love the DS, don't get me wrong. I don't think it's a kiddie system, I think it's a popular system that's probably easy to produce for. So you get a TON of dreadful cash-in games for the kiddies, along with the low print run gems. I've even invested a little in it myself. (I've got a sealed copy of Rhapsody, for example.) But, for me, the sheer volume of crap and what it would cost keeps me from wanting a complete set. That, and I'm pretty sure my friends would call Dateline if I owned 50 Hannah Montana games.
That said, I'm off to completly double-standard myself and hunt down some crappy NES games!

I think that as long as you post that they're the US versions and show clear pictures, I don't see them doing poorly, especially the out-of-print ones. Shoot me a PM with the ones you're selling -- I'll gladly pay MSRP+ for any I need.

Yeah, understandable... but I have a daughter and I'm not too proud to admit that on more than one occasion, I've mentioned they were for her! he he!

I have never heard of more than one version of Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin. I am almost positive I have the first since I bought it new when it came out, but how can you tell?
Kudos Dain. I was wondering what your collection might look like.
Of all of the modern systems, this is the one to collect for. So many unstocked games... the ultimate game count on this system is going to be insane.
I read somewhere that Nintendo has delayed it's development schedule for next portable system until the sales numbers on the DS and DSi stop being so ridiculously lucrative. I'm still waiting for the next system though. I've got 2 DS Lite systems and they're just dandy.

Heh, you're not alone at all. I've also played some and many are very fun. I just convince myself that I'm "testing to make sure it's appropriate content for my daughter" um, yeah, that's it.
