Inconsistent pricing/rarity on Super Dodge Ball

So like a lot of you guys I frequent pretty much any place I can think of that there is any of chance of finding NES games at. Doing this enough you obviously notice which places tend to have things for what prices but there is one game that I've yet to pick up that has me confused...Super Dodge Ball.

Some games like Mario or Zelda tend to be overpriced given that considerably more copies exist of them than most other NES games simply from a manufacturing standpoint. However Super Dodge Ball seems to be some strange exception to all the rules of NES pricing to me. I have probably seen this game available at about 80+ percent of the places I've looked for games at, and yet even when the place has very fair pricing, with games as low as $1, Super Dodge Ball is NEVER less than $13 and sometimes even as high as $25. Then on ebay I see it frequently sells for less than $5, and even with shipping it's almost always less than $10 total. I know this tends to be the norm that things are cheaper on ebay, especially if you buy a lot to save on shipping but why the hell is this game so expensive everywhere?!

Anyone have any guesses? It's not that rare or I wouldn't keep finding it everywhere, it can't be that popular (unless I'm living under a rock), it certainly is as common if not more than many of the games these same places are selling for $2-5...so why it is so expensive!

    Super Dodgeball is one of those games that is popular if you know about it, because it is very fun to play.

    It's not rare, but it's not really common either. it's uncommon. combine that with it being a good game and popular and you get the price.

    People also commonly ask about Contra, or Mike Tyson...they're even more common, and worth slightly more!

    For the most common games, I think many local places just assume that they're so common they're worthless, but for a title like Dodge Ball that's a BIT more obscure, they probably consult a guide. I've seen places that will always price any NES game at $2 or $3, but they'll look up PS1 games and have "the right" price on the obscure ones.

    Dusty Diamond Softball is another one that caught me by surprise. It's kind of "rare" I suppose, but apparently it has a cult following that considers it one of the best games ever and that's why it has a high price tag.

    ^I love me some Dusty Diamond, and Little League Baseball. I've never played Super Dodgeball, I'm pretty sure I have it so I'll have to give it a shot. This game is 4 player right?

    It's only 2 player, but it's honestly one of the most fun games on the system.
